Plantronics GameCom Commander

It could be a little more comfortable, but the Plantronics GameCom Commander is a top-of-the-line gaming headset with great sound and killer style.

Great sound ; Sensitive mic ; Superior build quality

Some discomfort ; Can get hot

If your gaming takes you on the road to LAN parties and events, then you will probably appreciate the sturdy construction and rugged carry case. Those who game at home certainly won't be disappointed by the sound but may find the GameCom Commander to...

Plantronics GameCom Commander Gaming Headset Review

Built for competitive gamers and fun-loving enthusiasts, can the Plantronics GameCom Commander Pro Gaming headset deliver the top-class performance that its ruthless target audience will demand?...

Excellent sound quality ; Very good Dolby 7.1 surround sound capabilities ; Strong microphone reception ; Sturdy design ; High-quality carry case

Uncomfortable for extended periods of time ; Ears can get warm quickly ; Expensive ; No fine-tuning components or software

KitGuru says: A good headset with strong audio performance and an immersive surround sound experience. Unfortunately, the comfort levels aren’t great and the price tag gives Plantronics’ GameCom Commander very stiff competition.

Not good

A pity. Good looking, should have been killer sound and performance. Top rated by MaximumPC. A waste of my time and money.

The USB Dongle actually let them produce acceptable sound. Excellent deal (WOW! $59!!) ; Newegg shipping was, again, the best I have ever used/encountered in my long life

Using the 3.5 connections I had to turn up the in-line Plantronics volume to Max to get enough volume AND my on-board sound to about 90 ; Sound was NOT as good at any volume as my old Sennheiser HD280's nor my old Plantronics DSP500s ; The Big One...

I bought them when they first came out for 300$ and they are still working today without a problem. I am buying them again because it was 60$ for the best headsets I've ever used.

Just about everything, but how the ears wear made. 7.1 is really no joke, yes there is little to no bass, but the less bass a headsets has the clearer it is. I've never used any headsets that were better, I've used the 2100 Corsair, Kraken Pros and...

Its true that it maybe uncomfortable the first few time you put it on but you need to break the bad boys in. It may take a week or 4 months, but when you break them in they are really perfect

Hard to Beat

Worth it all the way. Even if they were uncomfortable I'd be hard pressed not to have these. For the price, they simply can't be outdone by anything.

For price to performance, at $99, this can not be beat by anything on the market. It blows them all away. Sounds is amazing, mic is amazing, construction is rugged. I was worried by reviews but rolled the dice and am highly pleased

For me, they are comfortable. I have a more narrow head. I can see this hurting for someone with a rounder head than my own. I wear a size. 7.25 and the headphones fit me comfortably, even with my Nike glasses with soft plastic frames

Good quality, bad design

I ended up returned this product and wasted $25 + my time(shipping and re-stocking fee), spent a little more money and bought a Sennheiser HD 380 pro

good quality, well made

This is an on the ear headset not over the ear, extremely uncomfortable to use, if you have large ears and a big head, don't even think about buying this headset. This set might have been design for people with little ears and small head, I've used on...

Heavy, but impressive realism

Got this for my wife who, against all odds, has become an avid MMOFPS player. My current point of reference is my Fatal1ty headset. When I switch over to her GameCom Commander I am struck by the weight of the whole thing. I can feel it pushing on the...

Everything sounds so real. With VOIP, sounds like the other people talking are inside your skull. Really well constructed

Quite heavy and not as cushioned around the ears ; Normal price is probably 3x too high

Great headset for the sale price and small ears

I guess I'm the unpopular opinion. I wanted to post this because I took the chance after all the "uncomfortable" based reviews and I can truly say, maybe it's just if you have big ears, because they're not uncomfortable to me.

Picked these up on Shell Shocker for $65. I read extensively all of the bad reviews because of how tight they felt they were or how they hurt their ears. I have a big head but littler ears and I can wear them all day no problem. Play CS:GO, ESO,...

These would never be worth their original $300 price tag. They're great, but not THAT great. I would say anything less than $100-$120 is a good buy

Despite the minor flaw in integration of the headstrap that is a gimmick to begin with, the performance is outstanding. And although I happen to catch this set on sale for $80, I would have been very satisfied had the price been $150. (still wouldn't...

The USB sound card was so convenient. I have a stereo receiver hooked up to my desktop for many reasons.. but when gaming, its a pain to turn off the speaker output and enable the headphone plug.. All while still worrying about accidentally...

The headstrap is awful. Although initially comfortable, after a while of use, my head felt like it was going to implode. After removing the strap (kind of gimmicky) the set felt much more comfortable. Although the headset felt a bit loose. I did adjust...

PLANTRONICS GameCom Commander

I bought these at the same time as 2 other similarly priced (~$100) headset; I suggest you look else where.

Lots of attachments, nice case

These are *supra*-aural, not circumaural at all. They are nearly flat. False advertisement as far as I'm concerned ; Sound quality is terrible. Really bad ; No adjustment for where they sit on your head. I've a larger than average head and they still...
