Review: Razer BlackShark gaming headset

Razer military-style gaming headset

Very clear sound ; Strong construction ; Distinctive style

Heavy weight ; Microphone lacks sensitivity

When gamers want more from their experience, they typically go one of two directions. Those wanting to improve their chances will go for high-end equipment in the hope that it will help them react faster than their opponents, usually through gaming k

Dying too quickly

Great sound isolation, and when they are working transmit and receive very well

No volume control, no mute. I bought these so that I could tune the rest of my noisy household out when I am both playing games and when I use Skype to do my job during the day. After 3 months the wire for the microphone seems to be going out. I...

Great for gaming

For my own use, this is perfect. I am very hard of hearing and I was concerned that after I got these I might not be able to hear properly, but that is not the case. they fit comfortably over my ears and are loud enough (with proper windows volume...

Good, clean loud sound and quality mic

There is a slight rattle in the right ear when I move my head, even when I'm not moving excitedly

So Far So Good

They are extremely comfortable and have an awesome frequency response. The microphone works awesome. I also can hardly believe how fast NewEgg got them here. Amazing fast

While I use the a lot for gaming, I also use my computer to make business calls on skype and there is no way to mute the mic out quickly. There is also no in-line volume control

Good headset but defective

Pricey, as are most Razer products.

Comfortable, Nice sound quality, good mic. I liked the way they looked too

As a few users were saying, I did have an issue with the splitter cable shorting out. Shipped 'em back for a refund

Impressive first impression

I am a big fan of Razer products, This is the 2nd headset I have owned. My previous headset a razer Baracuda lasted me almost 3yrs, I hope this set does too. Bottom Line: Get them, you won't be disappointed.

Sound quality on mumble and ventrilo is very good. Voices are crisp and clear. Game sounds are equally good. Construction appears to be top notch. Comfort is second to none.... they are very comfortable even for my large noggin. People immediately...

none so far, though I will update this review after a couple months of use ; The cord is not braided like other razer products. Not exactly a con, just an observation

was comfortable around my head, and fit nicely. sound was ok

RMA'd due to the fact that the extension cord that came with it, was broken/defective. when using the extension cord, the sound only worked through one ear, and the mic did not work at all. just plugging it in without the extension, both speakers...

Great headset, even for the cell phone

The fact that these work on cell phones was a great bonus. Should be able to use cell phone while at a races.

Sound isolation ; Comfort ; removable mic ; sturdy frame ; mobile device (cell phone, tablet) support ; include split-er cable to support computers

As mentioned already, there are a couple metal parts for limiting the the cup movement that rattle. I plan to get some silicone and inject it in there to prevent/stop the rattle when moving my head around

Razer Blackshark BF3 Edition

I would like to start off by saying I am a fan of Razer and the Community that it belongs to compared to other computer tech brands. Their products will be quality built no matter what. Now, these headphones have a rectangular ear piece design which...

Moderate Noise Reduction, Comfortable Over Ear Design, Elongated Rectangle shape instead of circle for Ears, sharp looking

Expensive for sound quality
