Razer Tiamat 7.1 Gaming Headset Review

With the Tiamat 7.1, Razer is redefining the top end of the gaming audio line. Where previous headsets have had trouble creating a surround gaming experience through just two drivers, the Tiamat fits what is essentially an entire surround sound system...

Razer Tiamat 7.1 Review

When Razer announced the Tiamat 7.1 surround sound headset equipped with 10 drivers (speakers), a good chunk of the gaming community got very excited by the prospect of being able to play with surround sound without making the neighbors go [...]

In the end, I think that the Tiamat 7.1 edge goes beyond its audio quality: it’s the industrial design – the whole package. The sad reality is that most people don’t really discern the differences in terms of sound “quality” (between “very good” and...

Razer Tiamat 7.1

The Razer Tiamat 7.1 is an excellent-sounding gaming headset with plenty of bass, and while it's pricey for a wired headset, it's one of the best we've seen yet.

Excellent bass response. Comfortable

Expensive. Surround sound still doesn't image quite as well as a surround sound speaker system

SILVER!

Verdict

Here we have one of their most ambitious products yet, the Razer Tiamat 7.1 (Elite 7.1 Surround Sound Analogue Gaming Headset).

I must admit that I was really looking forward to testing out the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset because as far as features go, the Tiamat has the lot. TRUE 7.1 Surround Sound with 5 drivers per ear-cup, Noise-filtering microphone and a control box that puts...

Very Comfortable Good Sound

Although I cannot get some apps as loud as I would like to, the volume is sufficient in 7.1 mode. Feels really durable, It's worth the price but I was expecting sound quality to be better and sound tracking to be more realistic than the corsair vengence.

Comfortable headset you can wear for hours, Really sensitive microphone and amazing quality for a headset. Speakers are above average, speaker passthrough is a unique feature, and the inline sound control is convenient. Volume is good in 2.0 mode. The...

When in 7.1 mode volume is low, but when I have it in 2.0 mode I can get it as loud as I need/ want. The sound quality is good but it really isn't worth the price, you can get better audiophile quality headphones for this price. The sound positioning...

Nice ear candy!

It comes with a microphone which I haven't used. I guess I can't speak to that issue, pardon the pun.

I bought this headset because I like surround sound when I am gaming, and I am spending the summer vacation visiting with my parents. A pc surround system--not an option at their location ; I am quite pleased. The Razer Tiamat 7.1 delivers a true...

pricey, would not recommend if you are looking for a booming set of cans to listen to music

Broken right woofer after less than a 7 months

I really like this headset a lot but it turns out the right sub speaker is going out and it makes this horrible crackling noise and just doesn't produce the sound it did when I got it. I was never rough with it and I didn't drop it or expose it to...

Extremely comfortable ; Great for gaming, the 7.1 surround sound works as accurately as it should ; Looks cool and produces great sounds (While it lasts...)

Poor Mic design ; Right woofer making a loud crackling noise after 7 months of use (See other thoughs)

Great No Frills PSU

If I had it to do again I would have probably bought the Megaladon. Cheaper and much more, much more comfortable for log wear. The Megalodon style frame with the cloth soft cups should be updated with same technology as is placed inside the Tiamat...

Awesome surround sound, once you get the settings tuned It is quite amazing for sound and build quality

Not comfortable for large heads. ear cups are small and get hot. My previous headset was a Razer Carcharias which was the most comfortable headset so far I have used bar none. Debated on the Megaladon as a replacement since it shares similar...

Tiamat Review

They sound fantastic for gaming once you get them fine tuned to your needs ; Completely noise canceling ; The speaker switch on the control nob is nice for when you want to switch from headphones to speakers with ease ; Durable and I like the...

I'm writing this review after using these headphones for a long while ; For the price they should have used a more comfortable material for the head strap and ear cushions. If you use these for an extended gaming session they will get a bit...
