Razer Tiamat 7.1 Gaming Headset Review

With the Tiamat 7.1, Razer is redefining the top end of the gaming audio line. Where previous headsets have had trouble creating a surround gaming experience through just two drivers, the Tiamat fits what is essentially an entire surround sound system...

Razer Tiamat 7.1 Review

When Razer announced the Tiamat 7.1 surround sound headset equipped with 10 drivers (speakers), a good chunk of the gaming community got very excited by the prospect of being able to play with surround sound without making the neighbors go [...]

In the end, I think that the Tiamat 7.1 edge goes beyond its audio quality: it’s the industrial design – the whole package. The sad reality is that most people don’t really discern the differences in terms of sound “quality” (between “very good” and...

Razer Tiamat 7.1

The Razer Tiamat 7.1 is an excellent-sounding gaming headset with plenty of bass, and while it's pricey for a wired headset, it's one of the best we've seen yet.

Excellent bass response. Comfortable

Expensive. Surround sound still doesn't image quite as well as a surround sound speaker system

Here we have one of their most ambitious products yet, the Razer Tiamat 7.1 (Elite 7.1 Surround Sound Analogue Gaming Headset).

I must admit that I was really looking forward to testing out the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset because as far as features go, the Tiamat has the lot. TRUE 7.1 Surround Sound with 5 drivers per ear-cup, Noise-filtering microphone and a control box that puts...

Not durable

Sound Good ; Comfortable

Bass in the right ear broke after not even a month, Making the headset sound bad and almost unusable

awesome sound

Razer had a list of suggested cards but it is no longer there. my mobo has 7.1 sound but I would rather have a sound card. but had I known this problem I still would have bought the headset as in 5.1 they're still awesome

I love the sound. bass is great and you can adjust to your liking. very comfortable and not too heavy. I love the auto adjustable band or whatever you call it. Love the fact that they adjust themselves left/right/up/down. that is always a great plus....

you need to have a good true 7.1 sound card and those are very hard to find now

Cost and Quality make this a best bet. It is also IronEgg eligible. Nice perk to have them standing by the product.

Great Comfort, Sound is amazing. Setup was painless with minimal tweaks. Price is great for the quality and comfort. Returned my A30's and bought this and have never been happier with a headset

none I can think of. The mic setup was the minimal tweak. But, after that friends say sound is astonishing with almost no background noise. I have a 3 year old son, there is always background noise

I thought EA and ATT had bad CS

Repair. Razer customer service is terrible. It takes 7-8 days to get beyond the first CS rep to get to the RMA department. then they tell you it will be 4 days for them to read it but sometimes longer.

Great sound when they work. 7.1 works but due to the position of the speakers surround sound gets lost

head phone construction is terrible. Solid piece plastic for the head band that connects each ear piece that has a brittle spot because they notched the plastic at a 45 degree angle so its prone to snapping. The wire loom is glued to the housing so...

Unique and inspiring headset

The speaker balance feature is not something I really use much but it works alright. I feel that it's a rather pointless feature and excluding it could probably cut down on costs a bit. Who needs to adjust the balance of their rear speaker inputs on...

Much of what I like about this headset is being able to take full advantage of my fatal1ty titanium sound card. The headset performs admirably and I can successfully achieve audio immersion after only a short time of use (your ears have to get used to...

Switching to your pass-through disables the mic which is a bit annoying if you are trying to speak on a voip but want to listen through your speakers. There are ways around it but it involves too much fiddling with my setup ; DO NOT BUY IF YOU DO NOT...

Very Comfortable Good Sound

Although I cannot get some apps as loud as I would like to, the volume is sufficient in 7.1 mode. Feels really durable, It's worth the price but I was expecting sound quality to be better and sound tracking to be more realistic than the corsair vengence.

Comfortable headset you can wear for hours, Really sensitive microphone and amazing quality for a headset. Speakers are above average, speaker passthrough is a unique feature, and the inline sound control is convenient. Volume is good in 2.0 mode. The...

When in 7.1 mode volume is low, but when I have it in 2.0 mode I can get it as loud as I need/ want. The sound quality is good but it really isn't worth the price, you can get better audiophile quality headphones for this price. The sound positioning...
