Razer Tiamat 7.1 Gaming Headset Review

Great surround sound; very powerful bass for a headset; excellent comfort

High price; somewhat bulky

With the Tiamat 7.1, Razer is redefining the top end of the gaming audio line. Where previous headsets have had trouble creating a surround gaming experience through just two drivers, the Tiamat fits what is essentially an entire surround sound system...

Razer Tiamat 7.1 Review

When Razer announced the Tiamat 7.1 surround sound headset equipped with 10 drivers (speakers), a good chunk of the gaming community got very excited by the prospect of being able to play with surround sound without making the neighbors go [...]

In the end, I think that the Tiamat 7.1 edge goes beyond its audio quality: it’s the industrial design – the whole package. The sad reality is that most people don’t really discern the differences in terms of sound “quality” (between “very good” and...

Razer Tiamat 7.1

The Razer Tiamat 7.1 is an excellent-sounding gaming headset with plenty of bass, and while it's pricey for a wired headset, it's one of the best we've seen yet.

Excellent bass response. Comfortable

Expensive. Surround sound still doesn't image quite as well as a surround sound speaker system

Great for Sound, but very bad for Voice.....

I have had many headsets, this by far is the worst mice out of 14 (14!) different headsets. Without minor modifications to the head unit of the microphone it is just "a bad idea". I have had many cheaper headsets then this and this has a wonderful...

Direct control to sound interface ; Headset is very, very, very comfortable ; Retractable Microphone ; 7.1 Sound ; Speaker pass through - 7.1 capable

Microphone voice quality is weak, system will not transmit if it detects it as 'background' and can cause sound to be lost; strangely easy fix is to put tape on the mic hole for the facing out side. The microphone on my Creative Labs Tactical 3D - 25...

Great Sound

These headsets are only half the equation. You need a premium sound card to make these work. I tried Creative and it just didn't produce. I'm moving on to ASUS Xonar Essence ST PCI Interface Audio Card

Sound is unbelievable. Clear, crisp

Pretty Terrible

Pursuing a full refund, or some sort of equivalent exchange. Will likely never buy from Razer ever again if the RMA department gives me issues.. Depressing after being a loyal customer for five years.

Comfortable as hell, fantastic 7.1 surround sound (While it works)

After two days, constant crackling and buzzing emitting from the front left speaker ; Microphone is ultra quiet and muffled. Pretty dismal ; Audio quality is absolutely abysmal for the price. Yeah it's 7.1 surround sound, but my Megalodans had better...

Razer Tiamat 7.1

Looks cool

Worst sound I've heard. I tried every setting in Windows 7. I reset the headset... The sound was no where near my old 5.1 eDimensional. So I bought another pair for $35 of the eDimensional's! They are the best ; Will not buy another Razer set again

Fantastic sound

Honestly much better than I thought, I can't wait to use this when I finish building my pc :)

Great surround sound ; extremely comfortable ; great bass when listening to music ; in fps's can tell exactly where people are ; ok mic quality

makes buzzing noise when on a white screen such as the one you're viewing but is easily fixed by touching the mute pad

Truly Amazing "POSitional" Headset

Avoid this microphone at all costs. If you want to use this only for listening purposes by all means this headset is amazing. Beautiful, rugged, and does one of its jobs well. But if you are like me a true gamer, you need a microphone that sounds...

First let me start off by saying I bought this headset for myself last year July as a birthday gift ; I was looking forward to this headset since it was announced. I get my notification that the headset is available and instantly place my order. Days...

Not to what you were probably expecting Cons ; The major problem with this headset is the microphone ; With having said all the good things I have, I felt embarrassed and disrespected that Razer even released such a horrible microphone on such an...

RAZER Tiamat 7.1

Fantastic quality and positional awareness with true 7.1. I would advise using a 7.1 sound blaster card for better tuning ; As some reviewers have said you DO have to tinker with the sound equalizer or else they do sound kinda bad (once done however...

Microphone is garbage ; But Luckily I knew what I was getting into since I already have a fantastic stand-alone mic ; Blue Microphones - Snowball Item #: N82E16836431002 ; For those that are only interested in the 7.1 these are great ; If you are...
