RHA SA950i

RHA is one of several headphone makers marketing its product as providing “professional sound” for a low price. Judging by the in-ear MA450i and on-ear SA-850 we reviewed previously, that marketing hasn't been totally warranted. Though we enjoyed their...

Approachable, quality sound ; Smart styling and features ; Light and convenient ; Excellent value

Lack of definition in high-end ; Inconsistent performance among music genres ; Generally narrow frequency response

At $60, it’s hard to ask for much more than what these headphones deliver: approachable sound in a tidy, stylish package.

RHA SA950i

About once a month, I hear some variation of "I'm not willing to spend more than $50" in the same breath as "I want a really great pair of headphones—what do you recommend?" In the past, I would recommend spending more money—cheap headphones are...

Quality audio performance with no distortion at top volumes. Affordable, but doesn't look cheaply made. Removable cable adds value. Cable has inline microphone and controls for iPhone, iOS and Android devices

Can be uncomfortable over long listening periods. Highly-sculpted frequency response not for purists. Vocals on certain genres can sound a bit muffled

The RHA SA950i is solid option for bass-lovers on a budget.

Hands-on: RHA SA950i Headphone

Audioholics checks out the budget-priced RHA over-the-ear headphones.

While they may not be the most linear or accurate headphones I’ve tested, they are easily one of my favorites. With well extended highs, engaging bass, and no real weak point, you could do a lot worse for $60. Heck, you could do a lot worse for much more.

Detachable braided cable ; Inline Remote and Microphone ; Good design ; Excellent bass response ; Reasonable value ; Small and lightweight and compact ; Bass doesn't cloud high and mid range ; Sound leakage kept to a minimum

Lack of horizontal pivot adjustment ; Not as comfortable as they could be ; Need amplifying to really shine ; Ear pads don't appear to be replaceable

Important: In this section I am going to write a brief five point summary on the following categories; Performance, Appearance, Construction, Functionality and Value. These views are my own and help me to give the RHA SA950i On-Ear Portable Headphones...
