Sennheiser HD 201 Headset Review

Save money and enjoy sound quality and comfort with Sennheiser HD201!

As with the other headphones presented on the market by Sennheiser, the Sennheiser HD 201 headsets are very effective when compared to their price. Their main pluses are the comfort levels and the sound, as well as their vintage design, which makes...

While the sound is perfect in general, it seems they leak some sound at times and the bass is weaker than with other such devices. This makes the Sennheiser HD201 headphones great for gaming and watching movies, but improper for listening to music,...

Low cost, good sound

Definitely a worthwhile contender for decent isolating low cost moderately comfortable headphones.

The headphones are lightweight, low cost, decent sound and comfortable enough to wear all day. I use them at work to block outside noise and for this it works decently enough ; For the price, the sound quality is decent. I've had better sounding...

After a 12 hour day, even these get a bit uncomfortable, but come on, that's 12 hours of having them on almost constantly! :)

Oh well..

Sounded great, good price

If you have kids, a dog, a cat, or just clumsy, like me, by a better built model or brand. The cat and I knocked them off the desk a couple of times now only the right channel works. My fault but, they really should be able to take a little abuse

Cheap

I bought it for $12 in 2010. I owned 2 of these. They are cheap but sturdy. Sound quality is just ok. Use it for gaming and on keyboard

a little uncomfortable after wearing it for over 2 hours

I have purchased 3 of these because everyone in my house wants their own pair!

Seems to be well constructed, lightweight & comfortable to wear. Great sale price too

Mixed Feelings

They're a good value but I can't recommend them for music. If you use a decent headamp they seem to produce more bass but without one the bass is lifeless, lacking. To be fair most cans at this price can't do bass well so it seems Senn went for less...

Inexpensive (even more so on sale) ; Reasonably accurate, smooth and clear for the price point ; More comfortable than many of a similar size ; Minimal sound leakage ; Low impedance good for portable audio players, phones, computer audio, etc

10' cord way too long for portable use ; Cord thin, fragile, as are the strain reliefs at the cups ; Far less bass than most cans this size, but at least it's reasonably controlled bass ; Poor sensitivity (efficiency), despite the low impedance they...

Rich Sound that won't make you poor

Sennheiser HD-201 are wonderful headphones especially for the price. I've had these headphones or other sets of them for over five years and they never let me down. Their sound cancelling ability is very good though not absolute. My hearing is beyond...

I can't think of any major cons I've experienced since owning these other than the cord which is a bit long for close in use. But if you wind and bundle the cord that problem is eliminated immediately

Sennheiser HD201S

Update - Package opened. Definitely worth $12 & FS.

They look like nice headphones

Unable to remove from Nupont Polymer Nucular Apocolyse resistant packaging. Will try melting it open with cutting torch when I get home
