Fitbit Zip review: A basic and affordable fitness tracker

The Fitbit Zip remains one of our favorite entry-level fitness trackers.

Affordable; tracks steps, distance and calories burned; up to six months of battery life.

It doesn't track sleep or stairs climbed.

The Fitbit Zip is still a great entry-level tracker for people that don't want to wear a wristband.

Fitbit Zip ( magenta)

Unlike many of Fitbit's other trackers, the Zip isn't worn on the wrist. The tracker comes with a silicone sleeve that can be clipped to your belt, pocket or bra, which makes it one of the most discreet trackers on the market today. It's not pretty,...

Review: Fitbit Zip

The Fitbit Zip body monitor has a clip on one side that hooks to your clothes. Slip it in your pocket, on your collar, or...

Tap-to-view stats are wonderful and motivating. Goals and badges give you something to work towards. Syncs better than the kitchen section at Home Depot. Comes in multiple colors so you can express your individuality in one of five ways

You snooze, you lose: This Fitbit doesn’t do sleep tracking. You are so going to lose this sucker harder than a Pac 12 team playing in an SEC home game

Fitbit Zip

Another solid addition to the excellent Fitbit line of products, the Fitbit Zip gives price-conscious users a lower-cost smart pedometer to monitor their fitness.

Tiny. Inexpensive. Counts steps, miles walked, calories burned. Runs on a watch battery; no charging. Wireless syncing to Fitbit Web account.

Lackluster display. No altimeter (stair climbing) information. Does not monitor sleep.

Should You Zip?Miniscule, yet effective, Fitbit Zip certainly does meet the needs of anyone looking for a good quality fitness tracker at an affordable price. But seeing as you only have to shell out an extra $40 for the upcoming Fitbit One, which will...

Fitbit Zip Review

Wearable fitness trackers, they're all the rage nowadays it seems! From the juggernauts in the consumer electronics space, like the Samsungs and LGs, to other companies you wouldn't fathom even to think of being a part of the space, everyone is getting...

A very accurate pedometer ; Simple and easy to use ; It doesn’t really require a user to have a smartphone to view data ; Available in 5 different colors

Inability to view data from previous days without using the mobile app ; Lacks backlighting, so it’s tough to view in the dark ; You’ll need to buy a replacement battery at some time

Sporting a price point of $60, it’s nice to know that your wallet won’t be drained as much picking this thing up. However, as we’ve alluded already, the Fitbit Zip isn’t necessarily the ideal thing for fitness conscious individuals. Instead, it’s meant...

All in all, the is our favorite clip-on fitness tracker that we have tested, earning it the Top Pick Award. It doesn't have the largest set of features and functions, but it gets the job done for basic fitness tracking.

FitBit Zip In-Depth Review

Here's a fun fact to start out with: The FitBit Zip is actually probably the only product where I've written the review after over a of use with the device. Well, two devices actually. But, more on what happened to the first one later. Still, given the...

– Silly simple usage – only one action: Tap ; – Connects wirelessly to phones via Bluetooth Smart ; – Battery lasts 5-6 months, only costs $2-3 to replace ; – Dashboard and app work well, easy to consume data ; – Good 3rd party support/partnership...

– Selection of Bluetooth Smart compatible phones is limited outside of iOS and absolutely latest Android phone units ; – Doesn’t track metrics such as sleep or stairs/steps ; – Step-counter accuracy seemingly varies a bit ; – The export functionality...

fitbit one and fitbit zip review

As an adult I realize that it is prudent to take care of your body so that it lasts as long as possible, but intentions are easier than practice. Motivation is the issue, and that's where two devices from fitbit, the One and Zip, can help you keep...

Fitbit Zip wireless activity tracker

The tiny Fitbit Zip is a great motivational tool and wireless syncing is effortless

Battery doesn't need recharging ; Wireless Bluetooth syncing ; Great motivational tool

Doesn't count stairs climbed ; Monochrome screen isn't backlit ; Background sync through iOS is hit & miss

The FitBit Zip's tiny design, long-lasting battery and wireless synchronising capabilities make it a great "clip and forget" device that should keep you motivated. However, the non-backlit screen and the lack of an altimeter to count stairs climbed are...
