It's an excellent way to add automatic lights to closets and cabinets that are dimly lit even during the day. It can also alert you to motion when none is expected or welcomed, or when Fido needs attention. We were very impressed with its performance in our tests. The sensor is seemed quite sensitive within the range of its light with no false activations. Outdoor installation should only be done where unit will be protected from direct exposure to elements.
