2 Way TOSLink Digital Audio Optical Splitter

Bought this optical spiltter because I only have two outputs on the back of my surround sound and needed a third to plug into a Blu-Ray player.

Got one for two devices to link to a speaker system. Doesn't work. One connection is crackling and one doesn't pass through the data at all. Tried different cables and same results. Cheap, yes, but doesn't work, so worthless. Need another solution now...

Using this as a switch rather than a splitter - feeding two devices into one input on my amp, with only one of them active at a time. No problems with the audio quality, and it works a treat.
