Bluesound Pulse 2 review

Multiroom for the hi-res fans

Uncompromised full-range presentation ; Hard-hitting bass response ; Battleship build-quality ; Excellent connectivity

Lacks DLNA and UPnP support ; No DSD file compatibility ; App experience could be better

The Pulse 2 ushers in a new era of high-fidelity wireless speakers. It’s the multiroom sound system your High-Res Audio collection has been waiting for. The Pulse 2 represents the high-end for wireless multroom audio systems. An exciting upgrade on...

Bluesound Pulse 2

Bluesound Pulse 2 review: An exciting compact wireless active speaker that sounds terrific – but the Pulse 2 could be better when it comes to usability.

Excellent full-range audio performance ; MQA and High-Res Audio support ; Formidable build quality

Won’t play DSD files ; Doesn’t support DLNA or UPnP ; Considerably more expensive than rivals

No other compact wireless active speaker I’ve heard sounds quite as exciting as the big Pulse 2. Although it doesn’t live up to rivals in the usability stakes, as an upgrade on the original Pulse 2 it warrants two unqualified thumbs up.

Bluesound Pulse 2 review

The biggest, boldest-sounding member of the Bluesound family...

Big, bold character ; Good sense of space and organisation ; Dynamically expressive ; Deep bass ; Good connectivity and file support

Slight coarseness at higher volumes

A big, bold and expressive speaker that’ll fill even the biggest rooms with its rich, engaging sound
