Bose Lifestyle 48 home cinema system - Pocket-lint

Bose are always at the top of end of the market, offering solutions to those who can afford it. Of course with that expense comes a system that is easy

Sound, sound, sound

Pricey, not HDMI support for the purists, have to use Bose cables, subwoofer is bigger than a tower PC

At £4000 you have to expect that the player is going to be good, but it's not all perfect.

Bose Lifestyle 48 Series III

The latest Bose Lifestyle 48 home theatre kit is more living room friendly in its third incarnation, with a smaller Accoustimass module and a centre speaker designed to complement flat panel televisions.

Outlook With a price tag of AU$7,999, there's no doubt the Lifestyle 48 Series III -- available in black or white -- is a prestigious system aimed at big spenders and home entertainment enthusiasts. Bose also sells its AU$599 SC2 Wireless Surround Link...

Bose Lifestyle 48

The Bose Lifestyle 48 can store up to 340 hours of music from your CDs, learn what music you like and play back similar tracks. It's tiny speakers produce top-quality audio that is hard to beat.

Tiny speaker package produces fantastic sound ; Up to 340 hours of music can be stored on the HDD ; Remote control works through walls

Very expensive ; Irregularly shaped Media Center hinders the stacking of other components

The elite Lifestyle 48 produces purely stunning sound but with an AU$8,000 price tag, it certainly isn't for everyone.

A Complete Waste of Money...

I'm not going to waste my time anymore to try to tell you why this isn't a good system, because all Bose products are a waste of money. What I will say is that if you do decide to purchase this system is that you will have fallen victim to very...

If you're into playing cruel and unusual jokes on yourself, then this system is perfect for you

Ok, seriously...the reason why Bose isn't taken seriously in the audio world is not because of jealousy, but because the vast majority of their products are severely over-rated pieces of plastic, which for $4000, you should be expecting a lot more when...

The Worst $4,000 You Could Ever Spend On Anything

I don't know why anyone would choose Bose over competing brands of speakers. Are these people lazy? Rich and uncaring? For your money, you get less. It's obvious from what you can see.

Functional ; Not the worst speakers you could buy ; Small Satellites = Easy Placement

Obvious flaws in the balance of the sound. The highs aren't that crisp and the lows aren't that low ; The ugliest speakers I've ever seen in my life. Could they look any cheap and dinkier ; Sound is unspectacular compared to some $300-$500 speakers ;...
