HDMI Male to DVI Female Gold-Plated Adapter Convertor - AKORD

Bought this to hook up an older Apple Cinemascreen monitor to my HDMI equipped laptop. Previously tried VGA to DVI, but the signal has to be digital for it to work. Plugged this adapter into my laptop and attached the monitor DVI to the other end....
