Basic home theater in a box (HTIB)

The Onkyo HT-S3300 delivers sound for movies and music good enough to satisfy all but the most discriminating listeners at a very attractive price. While it doesn't have some of the popular features you'll find in more expensive systems, it...

Good sound for movies and audio, great value, 3D compatible, connectivity

No upscaling or conversion for analog video sources, no Blu-ray or DVD player, complicated set-up

A great home theatre system for a really good budget.

The focus of buying this product is that I bought for a really good price. It's up to date and it supports v1.4 HDMI interfaces and that means I am 3D-ready. All I need to do is to buy a LCD, Plama or a LED / 3D television which supports and interact...

It's usual to have plenty of input connections in a home theatre system like this. But Onkyo has specially created a dedicated HDMI input for your set-top boxes, Blu-ray or DVD players and for your game consoles

There isn't a THX decoder only Dolby and DTS. Not suitable with microphone mixers. Does not display UI via the composite cables and only shows up the UI if I use the HDMI connection to my TV

HTIB That I Could Hope For!..

I recently bought the Samsung UN55C7000WF (upgrading from my Sony 40KDL-XBR4) due to the optional 3D (and because I really just wanted to get a newer, better, bigger TV.. haha). I used to have a Sony HTIB that was a great beginner entry level system....

Plenty of HDMI Inputs ; 3D Audio/Visual Passthrough (Mainly 3D Audio was what I wanted) ; Great Look (Shiney Black Finish) ; Great Sound for Level Entry HTIB ; Simple Setup With Color Coded Connections

So far I can't really think of any... but if I were to actually have to state something??.. I would probably say that I wish it came out earlier before I bought my other HTIB setup from SONY. lol

A Great Beginner Home Theater!

After weeks of research on what i wanted in a home theater in a box i came across this nicely priced Onkyo. A brand, that honestly i did not know existed until my quest began. After finally finding a store that carried it, so i could hear the sound...

Plenty of HDMI inputs, Great Sound, Stylish Enough (they look like speakers), Plenty of Listening options for any and all

Advanced Setup for a novice will be a pain

Can't go wrong

It is call the entry level system but let me tell you that it is more than that. It may not have a stand alone power sub woofer like my Yamaha system that it replaced but it would take a 1000 square foot room to make this thing whimper. The 8" down...

Out of the box ease of use ; Color coded connections take out the guess work ; Looks great ; Sounds awesome

I tried my best to find one con but could not

Affordible Awesomeness

Hooked up my Media center, and 360 to it and was instantly impressed. watching DVDs on the 360 looked worlds better, even netflix looked great. The sound quality was surprisingly clear for and HTIB system.

First and For most is Cost, great sound for under $300 ; Upscaling/upconvert, 3 HDMI ports. 3D compatible (for those of you who care. Easy set up, the programmed listen modes are nice as well.. Great for Gaming

No Auto-calibration but for $300 bucks what do you want

Great stuff!

I just got my Onkyo s3300 last night and it was great ; It was very easy to set up and build very solid ; When I unboxing it, all speakers are well warped and no any damage. The wires have different colors and make me very easy to connect them in a...

No Ipod deck in the box like other Onkyo product ; No HDMI cable in the box, so u need to buy at least two cables for ur TV and game console. One for input and one for output

Awesome Introductory System

I had a moment when I couldn't get my Wii to show on screen, even though I was hearing the music through the receiver. I knew it had to be a user error, and something simple at that. I must have skipped a step in my excitedness to get the system out of...

Sleek system, Multitude of inputs, Nice customization options, On screen display, Easy to set up (I used the included manual- I figured it would save time to read the instructions beforehand), Low Price ; I was considering a soundbar, as the wife...

Hmm, I guess it would be the absence of upconverting analog (component) to digital (HDMI), meaning I have to run a component cord for my Wii out of the receiver to the TV, but that is some serious nitpicking. I mean, I wouldn't even complain about it,...

This system came perfectly packaged-no complaints about that. I hooked it up just as instructed and couldnt get a signal to my vizio blu-ray. Tried changing hdmi cables and switched cable ports around-nothing. Also found that when turning the volume up...

Easy to hook up

Flickered my Tv ; not compatible with my Vizio Blu-ray

Product Specifications

If you're looking for a future-ready receiver-and-speaker package that won't break the bank, your search may be over. Meet Onkyo's 5.1-channel HT-S3300 - a system packed with so much advanced technology that it redefines entry-level home theater. As with every A/V receiver in Onkyo's line-up, you get the latest iteration of HDMI - version 1.4. Three HDMI inputs let you hook up, say, your Blu-ray player, game console, and cable/satellite box - all of which can be output via a single cable to your connected high-res display. Not only is HDMI 1.4 compatible with next-generation 3D video, it also enables a convenient Audio Return Channel. On top of this, the HT-S3300 supports lossless HD audio formats from Dolby and DTS - previously the domain of mid-range to high-end receivers only. But that's not all. The HT-S3300 also provides an overlaid on-screen display function for easy adjustment of settings; a universal port for one-cable connection of peripherals; Audyssey equalization; four gaming audio modes; and a fully immersive, beautifully balanced 5.1-channel speaker set.
