Pioneer HTZ 7

Pioneer's HTZ-7 microsystem combines 5.1 speakers and a full-featured DVD/CD player in one package; just throw in a TV and you've got entertainment. If space is at a premium, the system will even do double duty as your home audio center - the main console has an AM/FM tuner built in, and like all DVD players it will read audio CDs.Making the system even more suitable for small areas is the player's separately-housed, corded display, which also receives the signals from the system's remote control. Within the player there's circuitry to minimize digital artifacting by reformatting the disc's 8-bit data stream to 10 bits before feeding it into a 10-bit DAC. On the audio side, there's 24-bit digital-to-audio conversion. A digital audio output lets you connect to a MiniDisc or CD-R recorder for copying your favorite CDs. The bass in the HTZ-7's speaker array is provided by a powered, 8-inch subwoofer, which contains a built-in Dolby Digital decoder and a 50-watt amplifier. The five satellites differ only in cabinet size; each has the same full-range, 2.75-inch driver, and each channel receives 30 watts of amplification.
