Don't expect a 5.1 surround system. However you get very clear sound. And the woofer is awesome. Great little setup for DVD movies. Also, musical DVD's give really good listening pleasure.

The Polk audio Bar is a very poor substitute for a surround sound system. The sound quality is slightly better than TV speakers.
