Samsung HT-BD1252 review

The Samsung HT-BD1252's build quality and audio performance could be better, but it delivers crisp Blu-ray pictures and offers a wealth of useful features, like an iPod dock and media-streaming abilities. We think it offers good value for money

Classy looks ; Great video performance ; Good range of features ; Low price tag

Speakers feel slightly plasticky ; Subwoofer can be overly booming ; No video inputs

Conclusion Although its tall speakers are rather plasticky, and its sonic performance isn't as refined as we'd have liked, the Samsung HT-BD1252 still impresses with its crisp Blu-ray playback, impressive range of features and low price tag. Overall,...

Samsung HT-BD1252 5.1-Channel System

It's low price comes with some sacrifices, but fortunately they don't mar the HT-BD1252 overly.

When buying a one-box system at this sort of price, you should expect to make sacrifices, and in the case of the HT-BD1252 build quality and sound performance take the biggest hits. However, lower your expectations and you might just be surprised by...

Samsung HT-BD1252 review

Samsung's minimalist HT-BD1252 player has subtle touch controls along the top and a small flap on the front panel that hides a USB port.

A budget home cinema kit, the HT-BD1252's tinny speakers don't impress, and it has limited features.

Samsung HT-BD1252 review

Bearded audiophiles might turn up their noses at them, but all-in-one systems are the saviour of the budget buyer. Samsung's HT-BD1252 provides cash-strapped punters a way of upgrading to Blu-ray and getting a full 5.1 sound system into the bargain....

Dazzling looks and a generous feature list

Ropey speaker build quality and some sonic shortcomings. Optional extras hike up the price

Not the last word in Blu-ray sound quality but plentiful features and punchy pictures will keep you entertained

Mixed review - great system but appears to have frequent faults

Having read many of the reviews here, I went ahead and bought the system alongside the Samsung 46" 7020. Combined, this is a great system - the TV is exceptional. The BlueRay system is also very good and the sound, for the money, is very high quality...

I had to return my entire system for a refund (and am still considering what alternative to get). The biggest problem was the same as reported by another reviewer. When playing Bluray from time to time the picture breaks down and pixellates, or gives...

Not bad...

I purchased this to replace an ageing DVD player that was more and more frequently not playing 'modern' DVD's. The look is excellent - very stylish, and it plays all the DVD's that not playable or partially playable on the old player. I also purchased...
