Samsung HT-D5100 review

An affordable system, with a decent selection of apps, but not best in class

Price ; detailed high-def pictures ; inoffensive sound ; Smart Hub works well

No HDMI inputs ; inaccurate auto set-up ; lacks subtlety and musicality of the best

There’s a lot to be said for this affordable system; not the best in class though

Very pleasantly surprised

We were looking for a bluray for our basement. When we saw we could get this system, bluray, amp and speakers, we decided to get it and replace our VERY low end sony 500w dvd home theater at the same time.

" Really disappointed as I purchased the unit with a wireless USB internet stick with hopes we could stream Netflix. Apparently there is a glitch that will not allow this which was the primary reson for purchasing the unit. Hopefully it's fixed sooner...
