Samsung HT-X810T

If the primary appeal of soundbar speakers is based on their significant reduction of wires and clutter--as compared with 5.1-channel home theater-in-a-box systems--then Samsung's new HT-X810T soundbar should be a winner. While it's not the first...

Soundbar surround system with built-in DVD player and wireless powered subwoofer; eliminates the need for an AV receiver; HDMI output; easy setup; streams Bluetooth audio from compatible A2DP sources; good digital media support.

Virtual surround sound delivers minimal impact; very limited connectivity for additional external devices; the DVD player's nice, but a Blu-ray player would have been even better; uneven HDMI video quality.

While we've heard better virtual surround sound, the Samsung HT-X810T's easy setup and dearth of wires will appeal to those searching for simplicity and a minimalist aesthetic.

Samsung HT-X810 Home Theater Sound Bar

Samsung Electronics is making high-definition video more accessible than ever to consumers with its HT-X810 Home Theater Sound Bar. Now usually we look down our noses at surround bars but with an

Samsung HT-X810

After the recent Philips soundbar review, my interest was piqued toward these sleek devices, and thus we decided to call in more from the competition in the market. And who better than Samsung, who is now one of the biggest names in the audio video...

The MRP is Rs. 44,900 though you can get it for lesser on the street. This is definitely an expensive price tag, though soundbars do cost a heft sum. The price would have been reasonable and the product a hit, if the sound output was good. It's a...

Samsung HT-X810 soundbar speakers - Pocket-lint

Slick design: looks great, good quality DVD playback, versatility: plenty of connection options

Can be overly bassy, slow to switch inputs and load discs, standby hum

The Samsung HT-X810 certainly looks good with the slick touch controls and the smart slot-loading DVD player delivering impressive results. The sound is also good once you have tamed the bass, which you never really can do to a great extent.

Samsung's DVD system upgrade is functional

Dramatic styling ; Wireless subwoofer ; Powerful stereo performance

No HDMI input ; ‘Virtual’ surround mode ineffective

Looks good, but performance-wise this system is quite limited

Samsung HT-X810 Sound Bar System overview

Expert review by: Ty Pendlebury (

Samsung HT-X810

The Samsung HT-X810 is a breeze to set-up and looks great sitting underneath your TV, and while picture quality is great, the sound slightly disappoints.

Stylish ; Easy to setup ; Wall-mountable ; 5.8GHz wireless ; Good vision

Overwhelming amounts of bass ; Speaker rattles at mid to high volumes ; Bluetooth doesn't work that well

Conclusion The Samsung HT-X810 is a great looking system — it's easy to set-up and works quite well. However, it's not quite the perfect blend of "performance and style" that Samsung promises.

Samsung HT-X810

Stereo separation is very good, and you can quite clearly hear sounds moving from side to side in front of you. The 'virtual surround sound' effect is only partially successful, though, as sound tends to hover in a kind of 'sweet spot' a few feet in...

Versatile all-in-one home cinema system with DVD player and powerful 2.1 speaker system

Strong System

You'll almost certainly have to adjust the subwoofer down to a lower setting. It's extremely strong which I like. I saw the CNET review before purchasing and sampled the unit at a local electronics store which sold it for $180 more. When it arrived...

Powerful subwoofer. Palpable virtual surround sound, better than expected. Impressive, full overall sound. Only 2 cables needed, HDMI & Digital Optical.

No bass/treble adjustment. In VS mode, dialogue can sometimes be a lil difficult to decipher or hear due to the volume of the surround sounds. In other words, would be nice to be able to turn up the middles a lil more. Might want to leave the TV sound...
