Samsung HW-C451

Editors' note : The Samsung HW-C451 is identical to the Samsung HW-C450, except the HW-C451's finish is silver rather than black. We reviewed the HW-C450, but the HW-C451 should perform identically to it. The photos in this review are of the HW-C450,...

Sound bar home theater system; very thin design; wireless subwoofer; surprisingly solid sound quality on movies, given its size; three inputs (two optical, one minijack); simple setup; useful "smart volume" control.

No HDMI connectivity; sounds lackluster with music; faux-surround effects are mild.

The Samsung HW-C451 is an exceedingly thin sound bar home theater system that sounds surprisingly good with movies, but lacks HDMI connectivity.

Pretty Sweet

I bought this item from HH Gregg at a very good price. I like the sleek style of it. I got rid of my 5.1 surround sound because it took up too much space. I was really impressed how clear this unit sounds. I had a few friends over ... Expand full review

This unit is crystal clear! Sub Woofer sound very nice! Compact and easy to set up. My wife can use it and that says a lot

The auto on feature is pretty lack. That is really the main problem

not bad t'all

key to this product is placement distance between soundbar + subwoofer shouldn't exceed 3 ft. subwoofer's good 'nuff, but space it too far across the room and it can't do the heavy lifting. once you set it near the soundbar however, everything clicks...

smooth synchronization between components, sure sounds like surround-sound to these ears - coulda' fooled me

of course a deep sub-woofer is always welcome, but this one is adequately up to the task. instructions for activating it could be simpler, clearer though

The first step is a big one

We recently got a Samsung UN46C8000 and to say the on board speakers sucked is a kindness. We have a large bay window dominating our living room with an open floor plan. That left us very few options with the TV. We the room setup for the TV to be in...
