Terrible unit

The unit has the most recent firmware, and it's connected to a 1080p Plasma. It does not appear that my experience is isolated. Stay away from this unit!

Sound quality is mediocre at best when it works. When you can get the unit to pick up on the optical audio input from the tv, it will work until you change the channel. If the channel does not have the same resolution as the last, it will lock the unit...

Wire streaming worked fine off NAS when it would read the file. USB streaming works fine too surprisingly as NAS/PC streaming are iffy at best. Wireless is kind of pointless streaming wise as it stutters on playback. Netflix works pretty well, as does...

Simple, out of the box worked as needed for very good 5.1 DTS HD sound from bluray, and connected cable box audio sounds like it should. Start up is fast enough, though not instant or anything. Menu's are ok to work with and controls thru it are fast...

DLNA support is questionable at best. Sometimes it works streaming media from my DLNA NAS device (Lacie 4TB NAS). Most of the time it hasn't work. I have mp3's, and mp4 audio that it has lately been playing. Updates may have fixed some of those issues....

I ended up picking this up to replace my Sony DAV-HDX275 since this was on sale at Newegg. When comparing features both have the older DVD system is far superior, to the point I put it back in main room. The E570 is now sitting back in its box unused. ...
