The DAV-DX255 could act as a good small-apartment or dorm-room initiation into home theater. With the added bonus of SACD compatibility, it could also help foster an interest and appreciation of high-quality sound playback.

It "eats" discs and Sony doesn't have a clue

I'd owned my machine 14 months when it froze a DVD and refused to eject it. Sony's manual and on-line site gave no good correction so I called Sony's "help" line and was told to do the same thing the manual said, which I had already done to no avail....

Average system

Dear Buyers, you get what you pay for. It's a decent entry level home theatre. If you have an HDTV then please invest in nice DVD player. This will not suffice! Avg. picture quality but sound is acceptable with hi fidelity and good surround. 4 or 5...

Explosive clear sound and GREAT value!!

I was very impressed with the booming bass and clear sound from this HTS and the price was GREAT. Hard to find such a good deal anywhere else.

Good value, easy to use, ...

Good value, easy to use, great sound. Only knock is that there is no video in so you can't have it hooked up in-line with your cable/satellite receiver and just do a pass-thru like with a VCR. I had to buy a separate A/B/C video switch.

TARGET buyers beware!!

I purchased this item @ Target on impulse which cost me $65.00 more than on the internet @ that time. Target would not attempt to match or give a store credit for $ 65.00 or any amount for that matter. Be very careful when buying/ anything at Target!...
