Yamaha YHT-S400 Soundbar HTiB First Look

Yamaha is pushing the limits of compactness with the new YHT-S400 Soundbar, receiver, and subwoofer solution. Yamaha has combined its thinnest soundbar with a combo receiver/subwoofer.

While it is sort of obvious that we dissapprove of mating a receiver and a subwoofer, the rest of the YHT-S400 package sounds pretty good. The soundbar should work well under most flatpanels (though it probably looks best under a 50") and the receiver...

Sound was ok and the price was fine

My product was defective...kept turning on-and-off. Video signal would fade every 45 minutes and the NewEgg support is tough to get without a major wait/cost

Excellent Soundbar

The Yamaha YHT-S400 is an excellent soundbar. I am using it with a 32 inch television in a bedroom. It is a great size for that tv and the sound is awesome. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is looking to upgrade the sound coming from their tv...

Yamaha Sound Bar

So far, so good. I really just needed surround sound for one large room, and this is working out well. Just an does not come ready to accept an iPod, you have to purchase a docking station, roughly $50-70, to hook up to the receiver. Also, I...

Stuff magazine

Yamaha's novel soundbar concept fuses an AV receiver, Blu-ray spinner and a subwoofer. Will it go out with a whimper or rock our world?

Inventive thinking from Yamaha delivers a stunning soundbar with cinema-in-a-box convenience

Review: Yamaha YHT-S400

Hailed by Yamaha as the slimmest sound bar in the market, the YHT-S400 is without a doubt an attractive package for home entertainment minimalists.

Massively space-saving; realistic pseudo surround; subwoofer punches above its weight

Limited A/V receiver features; manual setup; limited decoding and DSP options

This breed of home theater system isn't going to suit all A/V applications and tastes. It's for those who want surroundish sound without all the extra hassle of speakers and wires. Plenty of sound bars now offer this singular speaker solution, but this...
