BitDefender Antivirus 2008 protects against viruses, spyware, phishing attacks, and rootkits, and performs well on third-party, independent antivirus tests.
The application configuration options are often either "enable" or "disable"--we'd like more options.
BitDefender Antivirus 2008 has greatly improved since last year; we'd like more access to configuration options beyond simple enabling and disabling features.
Still, for the price, and for the excellent quality of its antivirus...

at first it was very smooth and effective with Windows XP
one computer became very slow with adware and rootkits etc which BD refused to recognize. Three different problems with no tech support response at all. Now trying Spyware Doctor.
"Garbage. The worst ever."
I did not like one thing about Bit Defender. It crashed my system completely, and I could not get through to customer service with email, telephone, or live chat. Never again. I removed it and downloaded AVG Anti-Virus Free. Much better!!!
I don't have enough room to tell everything I detest about Bit Defender. Each componnent is worse than the rest. It locked out my email, jammed my screen saver, and finally would let my system boot up at all. No customer service at all. Garbage.
