Altec Lansing inMotion MAX iMT702 iPod Dock

The iMT702 looks good and sounds good to an extent.

Altec Lansing inMotion Max iMT702

in the sense that it doesn't require an electrical outlet. Nor does its larger size mean that it gets booming bass. And we heard distortion at higher volumes.

Sturdy, attractive design. Rechargeable battery for added portability. Works with iPods and iPhones

Speakers lack strong bass response. Sound distortion at high volumes. A bit large to be truly portable. No video out. Only four radio presets. Limited remote

The portable inMotion Max iPod dock works with iPhones and sports a cool, rugged lookbut it distorts at high volumes and is less portable than one would hope.

The Altec Lansing inMotion MAX Portable Speaker for iPhone and iPod Review

I've covered iPod stereo docks in the past, but this is one of the first I've seen that claims to combine a clear and powerful speaker system with a rechargeable battery for true portability. I went into this review with a bit of skepticism; I guess I...

For its size and convenience of this speaker system, this is a great sounding unit. It's priced fairly too. I also like the design of the system. This is an especially nice system if you own an iPhone

I use the iPod Nano 3G most of the time and for some reason, the EQ on the iPod gets reset to "off" every time I turn the system on/off or remove/replace the iPod to the cradle. To get the bass this system is capable of, you need to set the iPod EQ
