GEAR4 BassStation speakers

Is this just another iPod speaker dock?

The GEAR4 BassStation may not be the cheapest iPod speaker set on the market but the sound quality and ease-of-use certainly make it worth investing in.

The Gear4 BassStation is an iPod soundsystem that offers a nod to the Apple Hi-Fi.

A neat looking, basic iPod speaker system, the Gear4 BassStation is a good value option if you're looking to take your housebound music listening digital. It sounds decent, and isn't so large it takes over a room. It's not the most versatile, but for...

Gear4 BassStation iPod Speaker Dock

If you lamented the discontinuation of Apple's iPod Hi-Fi, Gear4 has the perfect alternative for you.

It looks good, it sounds good and it isn't going to require a re-mortgage, unlike some iPod speaker docks. All in all the Gear4 BassStation would make a great addition to any study or bedroom provided you're not planning a rave.

Gear4's BassStation iPod dock fits a set of 2.1 speakers into a bread bin-sized box. The subwoofer gives the BassStation a more powerful sound than most iPod docks. Treble and midrange tones were also clearly defined.

Very much an entry-level bit of kit, but at a good price for what it offers performance-wise. It's perfect for a teen's bedroom and although there are serious oversights regarding design, it's a pleasant system

Price ; Physical volume controls ; Average sound quality

Design ; No bass reflex port ; No USB port ; No TV-out

If you're a teen who wants to hear the current top 10 and you don't care much about sonic accuracy, feast your eyes -- and ears -- on this affordable, bedroom-friendly boombox

Gear4 BassStation Review

A no-nonsense iPod docking speaker system for pumping out tunes at home - Gear4's BassStation may not be as loud as the name would lead you to believe, but it's idea for most bedrooms.

Good-looking, decent remote control, ideal for bedrooms, useful external audio inputs

Surprising lack of bass frequencies - given the name, remote doesn't work with touch or iPhone

A neat looking, basic iPod speaker system, the BassStation is a good value option if you're looking to take your housebound music listening digital. It sounds decent, and isn't so large it takes over a room. It's not the most versatile, but for...

Disappointed

Disappointed

Slightly disappointed with this because the docking connection to the iphone touch seems very easy to break and the instructions are scant. The remote control is basic and unuseful. Lots of plastic connectors, how on earth do i know which one to use....

Reasonable Docking station

Reasonable Docking station

Works well, the sound quality is not perfect, but is good. Being able to use the ipods menus is great, far better than the previous two docking stations I have bought. The only things that would improve it further, would be a display that could be seen...
