Gear4 BlackBox review

Bluetooth is an unlikely method of wirelessly playing your PC's tunes.

Simle to set-u ; Distinctive design ; Convenient

Sound lacks unchiness ; Not great for bass

Gear4 BlackBox speakers

Cum on feel the noize?

The Gear4 BlackBox is a great looking device and when used as a standard wired set of speakers, delivers a great sound. We're just not convinced the Bluetooth side is a long-term option.

Gear4 StreetParty III Union Jack review

The Gear4 Street Party III Union Jack is very light and portable, and produces a decent sound given its low price. Read our full review.

The Street Party III Union Jack is very light and portable, and produces a decent sound given its low price. However, the lack of power means that it’s more for background music than really kicking off a party.

gear4 Street Party Revolve review

The Street Party Revolve from gear4 is the latest iPod/iPhone speaker from the audio accessories company.

Priced at £59.99, the Street Party Revolve is one of the more expensive iPod/iPhone speakers we’ve looked at. However, if you watch a lot of videos, films and TV shows on your iPod/iPhone while you’re on the go, then it's a worthwhile investment.

Gear4 Blackbox review

The Gear4 Blackbox is a very attractive little system and certainly useful for anyone with a music phone. The lack of extra functionality is a little disappointing and certain music genres don't sound fantastic. Overall, it's a nicely executed idea and...

Design ; Ease of use ; Price

Lack of features ; Doesn't sound good with all musical genres

A great alternative for iPod owners would be Griffin's superb Amplifi -- it offers a massive sound, solid build, a built-in subwoofer and it costs just £90

GEAR4 BlackBox

The GEAR4 BlackBox is a Bluetooth stereo speaker system. It can be used as speaker for Bluetooth enabled phones, laptops, mp3 players and the iPod. The GEAR4 has a simple and sleek design that features 24W speaker output, blutetooth transfer...

It's a shame, because this is a little stunner. But if David Beckham's taught us anything, it's that just because it's good-looking doesn't mean it sounds great. GEAR4 BlackBox is tagged with Gear4, Bluetooth and iPod. Select a tag (Gear4, for example)...

GEAR4 StreetParty Size 0

GEAR4 StreetParty Size 0 are super skinny speakers for iPods. It has a slim form (16 mm) that supports AA batteries, and has a line-in option. The speakers also have 2x tweeters as well as 2x low resonance drivers. It weighs only 300 g and has a carry...

Why follow dull, boxy trends in speaker design, when you can build one that's only 16mm thick? That's what the clever guys at Gear4 have done here, giving the Size 0 a folding mechanism to leave it thinner than three pound coins placed on top of each...

If Victoria Beckham has taught us anything, it's that something this thin was never going to be able to throw out a big, powerful sound. It just can't compare to a decent desktop iPod dock. There's also very little in the way of bass – leaving some...

While the StreetParty Size 0 doesn't produce the sweetest of sounds, but it does look desirable and is one of the better affordable cum portable docks on the market.

Gear4 - Blackbox

Last summer we reviewed Bluetooth aficionado Parrot's excellent Boombox and were impressed enough to assume that this form of wireless audio streaming had finally been cracked. Gear4 recently announced two similar solutions in the Blackbox and ...

If you're looking to pick up a speaker solution for Bluetooth support you'll be disappointed by the performance of the Blackbox, and if you're not bothered about wireless there are comparable solutions around for a lot less. If portability isn't a...

Gear4 StreetParty Size 0

Gear4's StreetParty Size 0 is lightweight and super-slim, can be plugged into a power socket or armed with AA batteries. It even comes with its own sleek protective carry case.

The StreetParty Size 0 has a mouthful of a name - it implies there's more than one size, for starters, but I suppose is better than StreetParty Anorexic. It's an able performer at a reasonable price - albeit the top-end of reasonable; something like...
