Use bottled or tap water for best results. Distilled or ultra-filtered makes a lot of irons(including this one) pop instead of providing steady steam. I also hear a lot less complaining on laundry days...

Disclaimer: This is all according to the wife. I have not personally used it ; She loves it. Says it does not drip at all, heats up quick, and keeps a constant temp. Ironing a week or work clothes with the old $75 iron took her about an hour. This one,...

I would buy this product again

I purchased this specific iron to assist me with my quilting projects and household ironing. I always have a project going and I love to iron. This iron is very nice and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to iron.

My mom in Germany has this item and Rowenta is known as a really good brand for irons in Germany.

Solid construction, heavy as a iron should be, glides easily over fabric, big water tank, auto shut-off, Auto cleaning. After having several cheap irons from sunbeam, black&decker etc. I was finally fed up with this cheap products that leave stains on...

almost makes ironing fun

I hate housework & especially ironing. i love this iron, though. it heats up quick and the temp controls are really accurate. my garments look very nice after using it too. i still hate doing laundry, but at least this iron makes it a bit more tolerable.

Rowenta is an Amazing Iron

Introduction I like most people have owned several different clothes irons and steamers in their lifetime thus far. This is the first time that I have purchased a Rowenta, I have to be honest, I had never heard of the brand before ...

Loaded with many great features as mentioned above, Great ironing experience

The price might be too high for some people and heavier than most irons

Got a Lemon

Purchased the dz5080 November 2006.  Worked great for a few months, then started spitting out white substances even though we were using spring water as recommended.  Constantly would leak out water while ironing.  This month is was leaking all over...

Tons of steam holes

For the price, didn't last very long.  Have to unplug to shut it off
