I owned a Rowenta for over five years and have had no problem till recently. It stopped producing steam. More than likely my fault by not maintaining it properly. I read the reviews on the Sunbeam 4238 and thought I would save some money and give it a...

Poor temperature control, no steam, and sticky plate

Don't buy the Sunbeam 4238!!!!!! After using a Philips steam iron for 12 years, we decided to try this as it had good reviews. Urgh...the steaming function didn't work (it would self-clean and burst, but not steam when ironing). On top of that...

Product Reliability: Previous Sunbeam Iron Lasted 40 years

I had a Sunbeam iron for about 40 years. Never had a problem with it until recently when the cord started to fray. Who ever heard of an appliance that was so reliable and lasted that long? Thus, when I started researching irons and saw all the negative...

Daily Workhorse For a Great Price

After many years our Rowenta had finally given up it's last breath of steam-ability. Indeed it was a good iron, but we checked around for something reliable at a more affordable price. This Sunbeam 4238 (4268) iron proved a favorable candidate. We have...

As Good as the Expensive German Brand at Half the Cost

During the past 40 years, I've had four irons which were all manufactured by Black & Decker (GE, originally). When my last one died, I looked into getting one of the expensive German-named models. I had eliminated B&D because their current offerings...
