Tefal FV9630 Ultimate Anti-Calc review

  (Rating Hidden)

Tefal says its FV9630 Anti-Calc steam iron offers longer-lasting steam and hassle-free maintenance due to its built-in limescale defences. But does it really steam as powerfully after a few months of ironing as it does fresh out of the box? Read our...

It has helped me become an Ironman

  (Rating Hidden)

I previously had a Russell Hobbs iron which blew up (quite literally). I am an amateur iron consumer but having read Which? reviews I opted for this Tefal. It was time to switch from a British brand to a French brand (God help us all). However, I was...

Tefal FV9630 Ultimate Anti-Calc

Generally good, easy to use. I haven't had any leakage problems as described by others. My only real issue is that it's easy to change the heat setting accidentally when grasping the handle, so have to be careful.

Tefal FV9630 Ultimate

Sadly this iron appears to leak at random times during an ironing session. It leaked intermittently when I used the "super-steam" trigger, it leaked intermittently when I just used the normal steam setting. It leaked the entire contents of the water...

Tefal FV9630 Ultimate Anti-Calc

Completely useless. Previous irons have lasted for years with no problems whatsoever. This Tefal iron has been used perhaps 3 times and is leaking water even prior to ironing. Not impressed at all!!

Leaking water

  (Rating Hidden)

It definitely does not deserve best buy - the iron is leaking water even before you start ironing and it only gets worst during it. The weight is disbalanced towrads the end and it makes it uncomfortable to use. Returned to store and changed to Tefal...

Excellent Iron, but fragile

  (Rating Hidden)

The iron blazes through the ironing. However the design of the plastic moldings means there is a weak point around the top of the handle near the water jet button. It won't survive if dropped and if that little part breaks then the whole handle follows.

Makes ironing bearable

  (Rating Hidden)

Really like this iron it's a good weight, has a long lead and good sole plate. The water tank does need refilling quite often but that's only a small irritant. Wasn't the cheapest but I've gone down that route before and it's false economy.
