Corsair Vengeance K70 Keyboard Review

Mechanical keyboards are far from a new technology; they are decades old and some of the first mass produced personal computers came with mechanical keyboards back in the 1980's. However, due to their high production cost, they were soon replaced by...

One major upgrade over the Vengeance K60 is the inclusion of backlighting. The silver version of the Vengeance K70 has blue LEDs installed, while the black versions come with red LEDs. Every typical key has one LED installed beneath it, illuminating...

Corsair Vengeance K70

The Corsair K70 is a mechanical gaming keyboard that sports an innovative design. Find out how it compares to other keyboards in our full review.

This keyboard has a robust design and superior backlight control

A complete lack of macro support means this keyboard won't appeal to a large portion of PC gamers

Even without macro support, the K70 is a powerful gaming keyboard and, in the right hands, can be an effective tool.

Corsair Vengeance K70

One of the best mechanical-switch gaming keyboards on the market

Premium look and feel thanks to aluminium top ; Contoured keycaps actually work while gaming ; Mechanical switches offer great typing experience ; Can choose switch type and colour ; Keys have nice, grippy soft-touch finish

No dedicated gaming 'G' keys ; Contoured keys don't have secondary function labels ; Keys aren't noise dampened

The Corsair K70 is simply one of the best premium mechanical-switch keyboards on the market. Whether you’re after a keyboard mainly for typing or gaming purposes it performs superbly, just so long as you don’t want extra programmable G keys.

It's expensive, but its raised-key design makes this the best mechanical keyboard we've ever used

Corsair Vengeance K70 Review

Sporting a gorgeous brushed aluminium chassis, Cherry MX Red switches and key-by-key customisable lighting, is the K70 a game changer?

Excellent build quality ; Cherry MX Red switches ; Red LED backlighting ; Easily detachable wrist-rest runs the length of the keyboard ; Media keys and volume wheel ; Windows lock key through hardware ; Polling rate selection as part of hardware

No macro keys ; No custom profiles ; Only USB 2.0 passthrough ; Price runs in the face of strong competition ; K95 more feature-packed for only £10 more

Over time we have come to expect great things from Corsair's product teams, whether it be their previous core memory business or the relatively new peripheral line. The strength of the brand breeds users who are both content with the products they have...

Constant LED Failure

I've had the keyboard for close to a year and typing on this thing is pretty enjoyable. The build quality is top-notch and it looks pretty, however the LEDs failing is awful. Once one key goes out, others follow quickly. Obviously I'm not the only one...

Typing is great

Failing LED's

Awesome keyboard other than the lifespan of the LED's.

K70 MX Blue-Great key action. I couldn't believe how many typing errors I had from my old keyboard. Love this one. My kids (14 & 12) are all over it too. Love the USB 3.0 pass-thru port on the back of the keyboard

Purchased the K70 in February and it is now August. Currently 5 LED's don't work. They just started failing about a month ago and are dropping at about 1 a week. The keys that are dying aren't even ones I use (like the right 'ALT' key). Now I'll have...

LED failure guaranteed.

I liked my first keyboard so much I bought a second one for work. That one is newer and has yet to lose an LED but I'm confident it is only a matter of time. If a Corsair rep is reading this KNOW THIS: I refuse to pay shipping for the RMA process so...

Aside from the LED's this is hands down the best keyboard I have ever owned. I love the feel of they keys, the fit and finish of the keyboard, the overall build quality just feels exceptional. The media keys and volume roller are also very nice

The LED's WILL FAIL. Not a question of if, it's a question of when. Look up other reviews or visit corsair's forums if you don't believe me. I have 12 LED's out right now and expect the rest to go eventually. This sucks because I really liked the...

Great keyboard!

I just wanted to add that this isn't the exact model i have. i have the black finish with red backlighing but it still has the cherry mx blue switches.

The brushed metal looks great in the black and the silver finish and doesnt fingerprint easily ; The design is simple but is still extremely capable ; LED's can get pretty bright ; The cherry mx blue switches make for a really tactical gaming and...

Some of the larger keys are kind of 'mushy' but its really nothing too problematic ; You can only save one back light pattern at a time which is a hassle if you play a lot of different games and you want certain keys lit that pertain to that game ;...
