The mouse tray surface can wear out and you can lose tracking after a while. I remedied this by getting a mouse pad which I super-glued to the tray

The only possible con is that you can't really use a keyboard with a built in palm rest, as the keyboard tray has one built-in. It still works, just not ideally. Would require a little hardware modification to remove the tray palm rest
