Gigabyte Aivia Osmium Mechanical Keyboard

It is now common to see gaming peripherals in the marketplace that originate from manufacturers that are originally known for producing high-quality computer components. Gamers certainly welcome this trend, and we all hope that it continues because the...

Cherry MX Red mechanical switches ; Integrated USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports ; Removable wrist rest ; Adjustable backlighting ; Ghost software - 5 gaming profiles ; Quality of construction

Positioning of headphone/mic jacks & USB 3.0 port ; More variety of backlighting colors ; Expensive price

Before sharing with you my conclusion regarding the Gigabyte Aivia Osmium Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, I would like to point out that this entire review is based on my personal experience with it and is, therefore, subjective. Some of the products we...

Gigabyte Aivia Osmium Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Offering some interesting features we put the Osmium through its paces to see if it keeps up the high standard that Aivia/Gigabyte have set.

The Osmium is another quality product from Aivia. With a very high build quality, good software support and macro control. With USB 3.0 support the Osmium sets a high standard for mechanical gaming keyboards.

Great keyboard, questionable software

The software that you can download from GIGABYTE's website is triggering trojan warnings on VirusTotal. I will not install it until they release one that passes green. Other than that I love the keyboard!

Great keys. USB 3.0 and other features work great

The legs on the keyboard fold too easily. I'm always adjusting the keyboard on my desk and when I push it forward the legs collapse. Very annoying ; There is no Windows key on the right hand side so I cannot "Windows Key" + L to quickly lock my...

Stay Away

The first one lasted 6 months before registering multiple keystrokes on some keys. RMA'd it. With this one my computer says it can't find a driver for the usb hub in it, and shuts down the whole keyboard. If I unplug it and plug it back in the keyboard...

Customer service was easy to use although didn't do me much good

First one lasted only 6 months. Second one won't work with my computer

Bad omen?

Now, I'm not sure what to do. Should I return it? Will it be ok if I keep it? I will always have a doubt. So many people have reported a similar problem, it would seem that Gigabyte should have found the cure?

Ordered on wednesday and was delivered the next day ; The KB was recognized upon plug-in (XP) and was working perfectly. I find that the keys are not as noisy as a Black Widow. Feels solid and confortable

In the next three hours after I plugged it, all I did was use Outlook and read Word documents onscreen. I was using the down arrow key to scroll down when suddenly it stopped working. No backlit, no typing, dead! Only the Aivia LED was breathing as...

GIGABYTE GK-OSMIUM Black

I've had this keyboard since December. I fear the longevity of it. Yet I knew this coming in, I've seen many reviews about it not lasting long. But it was either this or a Corsair keyboard. I personally don't like Corsair.. So Gigabyte, don't...

Mechanical ; Wrist rest thing ; lights up ; onboard memory for G keys (after you set the shortcuts through the Aivia program, you can uninstall said program and they'll still work) ; usb input

Others have said and this happened to me a few times now.. Randomly the keys will stick. Not physically, but while you're typing or pressing any key, one will randomly seem to think it's still pressed in. So you get a constant stream of letters:...

This *was* a great keyboard.. when it worked.

Do not buy this keyboard, it is not reliable. Now that its an issue i am seeing tons of posts on this problem. And to top it all off, the aivia website says i don't have permission to view their tech support forum.

looks, feel, weight, volume and led adjustment, mechanical.. what more could you ask? It truly is an awesome keyboard. Its exactly what you would expect from all the good reviews. and it even looks good on the floor next to my computer. but

ITS BROKEN. It took just under 4 months to go from absolutely awesome to absolutely useless. They keyboard in the blink of an eye died. I did not abuse it or spill anything on it. I was simply typing and boom, dead. I have googled for over an hour,...

Great keyboard with minor problems

Good keyboard because it is very solid made, has lots of functions, and has not a lot of issues ; I don't use the palm rest, I use an Imak ergobead ; I don'-t like the plastic feel, similar to the newer quickfire tk, but it is the best choice as of...

once I spilled water accidently and experienced what others have noticed a drag of one key, letter K or L i forgot. But that disappeared ; When that happens, please just dry it up and take care not to use it as is, to be safe. It will dry up and come...

Fantastic

I'd highly recommend this keyboard to anyone.

This keyboard is so well built and comfortable to type on, easily one of the best keyboards I've ever owned. The keys feel great with just the right amount of feedback. The USB 3.0 port is also convenient. I've read others that mention they'd like the...

Not much. Maybe another USB 3.0 port? I can't complain at all, this keyboard has been flawless
