Saitek Eclipse II Illumintated Keyboard

The Eclipse II has many pros going for it. Its no-driver setup means that you can simply plug it in and go, its full backlighting lets you type with the lights off, and the different color options (red, blue, purple, or "off") let you make the Eclipse...

Lower price compared to that of other backlit keyboards; three LED color options; easy setup.

No additional keys or customization software; keys feel cramped and mushy; not as fully featured as the competition.

If all you want is a backlit keyboard, Saitek's Eclipse II does that very well. We wish that Saitek had also refined the key feel and added a few other features. Aside from lighting up, it doesn't offer gamers much to get excited about.

GCN Lab Review: Saitek Eclipse II illuminated keyboard

Because the lettering on the keys is transparent, the backlight shines through them, which means you can use the keyboard in total darkness.

Cool backlit keyboard makes your work space feel like a spaceship

Co-workers might think you're a bit “out there,” but who cares

Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard

Saitek's Eclipse II keyboard is the successor of the Eclipse. It features three different backlight colors and some very comfortable keys for stress and pain free gaming. The layout looks a bit futuristic, while keeping the size and weight at the same...

Great choice of lighting, Very good build quality, Silent keys, Just a tad bigger than usual keyboards, Good adjustable size and height., Solid grip on surface, Back-light looks great for LAN parties

No headphone/speaker or USB plugs for LAN party use, Angle of light makes it hard to read with the back-light, No CD or special programmable buttons., Manual not the easiest read

The Saitek Eclipse II Gaming Keyboard is a very well built, back-light keyboard without a lot of fancy extras. You will not find any head phone jacks or USB ports and it also lacks programmable buttons and therefore any software to program them. So...

USB Keyboard for big hands

Adjustable backlight in 3 colors. Removable wrist rest. Number keypad

Keys spaced far apart. Huge keyboard. Backlight shines too brightly through keys

When my PowerBook G4 keyboard, barely a year old, started popping keys and sticking, I sought an external keyboard to use, until I have time to send my machine to Apple for repair. The Saitek Industries Eclipse II Backlit Keyboard looked like a good

Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard Review and Prices

The Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard offers excellent soft-touch keys and a decent selection of useful features. Saitek is known more for its gaming peripherals than its input devices, but the Eclipse II keyboard is a bit of both. For gamers and modders, as...

Saitek Eclipse II Illuminated Keyboard

Craving one of the coolest looking gamer keyboards around? The Eclipse II delivers. It can be equipped with three different LED colors, and also packs a fair amount of functionality.

Sturdy and stylish ; Three different color options are nice ; Dimmer knob is a nice addition ; Comfortable to use for extended periods of time

Price. $60 US for a keyboard might be steep for some ; Backlit keys could be a bit brighter

Something else to take note of the build quality of the Eclipse II. The keyboard has a weighted base and rubber pads on the corners to insure a firm stance on whatever surface you are setting it on. The Eclipse II has two flaps that come out to allow...

Review: Saitek Eclipse Keyboard

Keyboards are probably the last thing you think of when you look at upgrading your computer. We often look for better graphics and sound, but don't pay attention to the way we interact with our computers. Enthusiasts know how important it is to have...

Performance on a keyboard comes down to how it feels while you type. With the Saitek Eclipse keyboard there is also the issue of lighting. The lighting on this keyboard works really well. I usually leave the light on high and pick out all the right...
