Battery drains spontaneously

If you want a laptop that cannot be disconnected for any length of time from the power cord, this is the computer for you. If you want a portable laptop, look elsewhere

Thin, light

Since obtaining it, the battery is draining by 1% per hour when not in use. Unfortunately, a replacement battery is not available from Toshiba, even though it is a brand new model

Toshiba Tecra R840-12F review

Toshiba's Tecra line-up is filled no-nonsense business laptops that are superbly capable performers. The R840 is no exception, squeezing a Core i7 processor and optical drive into a compact 14in chassis.

Toshiba Tecra R840 review

The 14-inch Toshiba Tecra R840-11E is a good option if you need a laptop for work purposes. It has a great keyboard, plenty of grunt, and it's small and light enough to comfortably carry around.

Clean and classy design ; Fast performance ; Great keyboard ; Good battery life

An HDMI port would be more useful than the DisplayPort ; Expensive

If you need a laptop for work purposes, the Toshiba Tecra R840-11E is well worth considering. It has plenty of muscle under the bonnet, its keyboard is excellent, and its battery life and design are also decent.
