Acer Extensa 5620Z-3A1G12Mi

The Acer Extensa 5620Z (3A1G12Mi) is a budget notebook aimed squarely at the business market. With a combination of commercial features, such as an ex...

Excellent value for money, good built-in webcam, wide variety of connectivity

Lacks processing speed, ergonomic keyboard design takes getting used to, plain design

Although the unit lacks the speed seen in other dual-core systems, it is one of the best notebooks available for under $1000. If you are on a tight budget, this unit should be high on the must-see list.

A basic and business-like machine that works exceedingly well for the price

Impressive performance ; Decent battery life ; Good screen ; Solid build

Basic feature set ; Poor audio quality ; Quite heavy

A great value laptop, sturdily built and a strong perfomer

Good work/school laptop.

Runs Vista well. Struggles a bit to run Warcraft 3 (DotA), which is a relatively old game. I was pleasantly surprised by Microsoft's improvement to wireless connectivity in Vista; it is streamlined and makes for easy networking. Basically, it's...

Strong processor for a budget laptop ; Plenty of RAM ; Acer software has some benefits and is somewhat programmable ; Nice screen size ; Good keyboard for typing (for a laptop); it has a slight curve and clicks just right ; Decent battery life and does...

The GPU, naturally, is incredibly weak (standard for a laptop); my old Radeon x300 is far more powerful, even if only with original drivers ; Vista Business does not come with or allow download of Vista games (though it can be downgraded freely to XP)...

Not Bad for the price.

The Top Screen resolution is a little weird. 1280 by 800?

Low price, nice screen. The keyboard is large(I have big hands). Linux installs okay in dual boot mode, and most of the hardware is linux compatible, with Ubuntu 8.40

The Wireless lan is not Linux compatible out of the box. There are third party drivers available out there someplace. (If you use linux, you might as well purchase a wireless lan card that is linux compatible instead). The Set up disks do not come with...

works great. does the job

if you know a 'little', you can save tons by getting this one and tweeking it a little. your human eye wont tell the difference at speed.

great price, nothing really needed to make it better. came with plenty ram

start-up slow, but after running tuneup utilities, this thing ran like a $3,000.00 laptop

Does the job for the price.

I needed a reliable laptop in a hurry for my doctoral program. This did the job beautifully. Windows Vista takes some getting used to. Kudos to NewEgg for getting it to me so quickly!!!

Fast, great display, easy to use

Battery has very short life. Also, the hard drive is partitioned, and I don't know how to use that. NO directions given

Why doesn't Newegg have 24hr customer support? Epic Fail.

Best Bang for the Buck out there hands down. You won't be dissapointed

Too much preloaded junk but that is easily dealt with. If this laptop came with a webcam it would be even more amazing, but it doesn't

Great Value

to: Fearinhell on 9/14/2008. If you want to find the XP key, go to softpedia.com and get SIW. It's free and will tell you the XP key plus a whole lot more.

Computer is fast, and with 3GB RAM there is no need to purchase extra memory next year. Not many notebooks with XP, this was necessary for my client, now they don't have to spend multi-hours learning the PiA Vista. Wish they had a navy blue shell. Glad...

I hate trial versions. The McAfee trial wants $69 to purchase, which is $20 above retail. Of course there is also the overpriced Office 2007 trial, why not put on Open Office? its functional and does most of what Office does

Great buy,But.....

New Egg gave me a great deal, and it their A-1 service that always sweetens any purchse,

A vry nice laaptop for the money. Componenets are all good with a brught crytal display

Windows Vista OS is horrible to work with. So many things that worked fine with XP now struggle to work at all. One such thing is the extended desktop feature that could be used with the magnifier for eyesight impaired like myself....With Vista, I...
