Very sleek, with a killer screen. The widescreen is great for dvd's and working on spreadsheets. This is my first lap top and I am 35 years old. Well worth the wait. (c:

Just got this laptop today and for the money, it's a great bargain. Runs nicely out of the box, but only comes with a 4200 RPM hard drive, which is a brutal bottleneck for the system. I'd suggest upgrading to a 7200 RPM drive if you're a power user....

Comparable laptops run for considerably more. I have had the machine for 3 weeks and am very happy with its performance and value. I also get about 3 positive comments a day on how it looks, just a sleek looking machine. You wont be disappointed.

Perfect match of performance vs. value ($). Just recieved mine a few days ago and have been putting it through its paces. No falters yet. The screen reflectivity may pose an issue for those folks who work outside, but indoors, the screen is very sharp...

I've always been an AMD fan, and I have to say this machine is sweet. It's truly a wolf in lamb's clothes. Socket 754 main board which means a simple processor upgrade and it's an athalon 64 2.2 GHz laptop! Very pleased customer.

The battery life for the Aspire 1414 is up to 2.5 hours life depending on configuration and usage. It took some effort finding out the battery life of the Aspire 1414. As I'm writing this, newegg hadn't the chance to post it.
