Acer Aspire 1502LMi

The Athlon 64-based Aspire 1502LMi performs very well as a 32-bit Windows platform, and is ready for the new world of 64-bit computing, when it finally dawns.

Excellent application and 3D performance ; good combination of legacy and modern features, including 802.11g wireless

No 64-bit version of Windows shipping yet, or any 64-bit Windows programs ; less flex in the screen would inspire more confidence

If you're looking for a powerful desktop replacement notebook, you could go the conventional route and select something like Dell's Dothan Pentium M-powered Inspiron 8600c. Nothing wrong with that -- we gave it an Editors' Choice, after all. But if you...

Acer Aspire 1502LMi

It is a very fast notebook, but can be a bit loud when the fans are running. Screen is clear and detailed although the viewing angle is not as good as my old IBM T30. Build quality is good but quite plasticky. Overall I am extremely happy with this...
