Review Acer Aspire 5253 (AMD Fusion) Notebook

Energy Saver. AMD Fusion enters the aggressively priced 400 Euro

Robust compact case; Low system noise at all times; Hardly any heat dissipation; Low power consumption; Short battery charge time; Very good battery run times

Poor application performance; Weak gaming performance; Interface locations; Keyboard layout; Very reflective display; Bad mono sound quality

Small multimedia machines with office ambitions: HP ProBook 4720s: matte 17 inch; Asus A52JU: small HD 6370 graphics; Lenovo B560: Optimal for 399 Euros.

Acer Aspire AS5253-BZ480 Review

Notebook shoppers on a tight budget will find a lot to like in the Acer Aspire 5253. You get good-enough performance for everyday tasks such as e-mailing and web surfing, a larger screen than a netbook, and enough battery life so you don't have to stay...

Long battery life, Comfortable keyboard, Good webcam, Relatively light

Mediocre benchmark performance, Lackluster speakers, Low wireless scores

Acer Aspire AS5253-BZ480

A 15.6-inch widescreen means you won't have to squint at the display. You can tile two applications side by side and still have room for a chat client like AOL's AIM or Digsby. It has a full size keyboard, and the adjacent numeric keypad (also...

Priced like a netbook. Big screen. Full size keyboard includes an adjacent numeric keypad. HDMI port. Excellent battery life at this price range

Slow-poke in speed tests. Plain design

The Acer Aspire AS5253-BZ480 laptop is a compelling play on price and battery life, using a netbook-based AMD Fusion APU.

Acer Aspire AS5253-BZ661

The Acer Aspire AS5253-BZ661 ($469.99 list at Costco) is a full-size desktop replacement laptop running on netbook parts. Those parts aren't Intel Atom based (which doesn't exist in anything beyond a 12-inch laptop) Rather, it uses what AMD calls an...

Priced like a netbook. Big screen is a plus. Full size keyboard included an adjacent numeric keypad. HDMI port included. Excellent battery life for the price

Slow-poke in speed tests. Plain design

The Acer AS5253-BZ661 desktop replacement laptop is a compelling play on price and battery life, using a netbook-based AMD Fusion APU to lead the charge.

Speakers

Forgot to include in my last review

Internal Speakers Are Horrible! Horrible sound quality. Horrible volume control. Volume doesn't go loader than a faint whisper. Not good for watching movies, listening to music, or playing video games (audio)

Awesome Deal

Labtop is not that bad, really light weight, awesome spec's for the price i got it for, decent hard drive, great battery life all in all a good deal

Filled with bloatware causing slow proformace. this labtob can definatly go without the OEM bloatwere that comes preinstalled. it is lagging right out the box. best bet is to reformat right out the box with a retail copy

great

works great as the take home computer. easily does everything we need it for in the office plus the ability to take certain info out of the office for after hours problems. an easy way to keep track of the trucks and not have to stay at work.
