Review Acer Aspire 5552G Notebook

Structured. Simplicity is convincing. The mainstream 15.6" all-ro ...

Quiet and cool; Resistant surfaces; Good touchpad; Low idle power consumption

Short battery life; Poor 3D performance; TFT not AR coated; Poor contrasts; TFT too dark (outdoors); Spongy keys; Few interfaces

The courage to use a plastic look without aluminum or aluminum imitation

Great student laptop

Battery life: around 3 hours.

Good price for quality. Light and durable - has served me for over a year. Plays current generation games at low graphics settings

After about 3-4 months, the hard-drive would unexpectedly fails to be detected at start up. Resetting the computer usually resolves within 2-3 tries. Speakers are quiet and low quality, but nothing a headset can't fix. The biggest con is the keyboard....

Great Laptop

I've had this laptop for about 16 or 17 months now and I have yet to find a single issue. These closest I've found is when you are crunching a lot of video memory, it can get warm, but using a spacer to give the fan more room fixes that. I run hard...

Horrible Heat Management

Fast, efficient

Extreme heat issues, even with a notebook cooler. Horrible customer service. Hard drive crashed at 11 months of ownership, and Acer hasn't responded yet. Bought a replacement hard drive here out of my own pocket just to get the laptop up again. I am...

Stay Away

I have one of these laptops, and it's true what they say, you get what you pay for. 1 year 2 months and 13 days. That's how long mine lasted. The display has gone out, so when it's on black is green and grainy almost as though it's an analog display...

Absolutely Perfect

If you're looking for a cheap computer, there is no comparable laptop on the market, with that processor and graphics card you are getting the greatest bang for your buck, most complaints are due to people not understanding how little they paid. It is...

I can't imagine a better computer for the price. It has a powerful processor and a decent graphics card to back it up. Bought it to play Skyrim and Fallout NV and it sure as hell did that with only minor lag. Not sure if I'd buy it for gaming, but it's...

Most people claimed it overheats. I only recently started monitoring its temperature. With a cooling platform it idles around 45-51 Celsius and during intense gaming for several hours it can hover around 70 Celcius, but that's not really a problem...

Awesome Acer

Great Laptop, Especially for the price. Great performance nice specs, looks awesome, long battery life

It gets kinda of hot during gaming, had it shutdown once due to this, built myself a cooler for it and hasn't happened again. The built in graphics are a bit limited

Good Laptop

I bought this laptop over a year ago to replace my older Acer Travelmate laptop. I was impressed with Acer as my Travelmate survived 3 years of travel and abuse including a year in Afghanistan in and out of rucksacks without missing a beat (I still...
