Acer Aspire 5741G-6983

The Acer Aspire 5741G-6983 is a tweener in the best sense of the word: It fits right between a great mainstream unit and a powerful gaming laptop. It has good input ergonomics, a nice 15.6-inch, 1366-by-768-pixel display, great everyday performance,...

Fast and stylish ; Great gaming frame rates

A bit pricey for a mainstream laptop ; Ethernet port is inconveniently located

A great all-purpose unit with superior gaming potential.

Acer Aspire AS5741-6073

It won't turn heads at Starbucks, but the Acer Aspire AS5741-6073 impresses with strong application performance and lengthy battery life.

Core i5 processor at an attractive price. Strong performance. Long-lasting battery. Relatively lightweight.

Design looks dated. Keyboard design makes it a magnet for dirt and dust.

Review Acer Aspire 5741G-334G50Mn Notebook

All-rounder at your fingertips. Is an aesthetic overhaul enough t

Touchpad and keyboard; TFT has good brightness; Good performance in various applications; Low exhaust heat; Low power consumption

Short battery life; TFT does not have a matte finish; Low contrast

Toshiba Satellite L550-207: for a measly 60 Euro more this 17.3 inch model packs measurably better graphics power. Packard Bell Easynote TJ75: the same also goes here, where more GPU power in a 15.6 inch format can be had for a few more bucks. Acer...

Acer Aspire 5741-434G50Mn notebook

An inexpensive Acer laptop that can tackle many different tasks

Inexpensive, good speed for office tasks and media encoding, doesn't feel heavy

Screen has poor vertical viewing angles, no eSATA, keyboard keys a little stiff

Acer's Aspire 5741 comes in many guises, but the Aspire 5741-434G50Mn model that we reviewed is perfect for anyone who wants an affordable laptop that can be used for almost any task except serious gaming. It's a 15.6in notebook with a full-sized...

Acer Aspire 5741Z review

Stunning value from this smart and surprisingly powerful laptop

Powerful processor for the price ; Strong graphics ; Smart design ; Decent battery life ; More storage than most rivals

Some flex on palmrests ; Not everyone will like the flat keyboard ; Crumbs fall between keys easily ; Reflections on screen ; Touchpad may be too sensitive

If your budget is slender, but you need a powerful and portable machine, the Aspire 5741Z is your best option by far.

Acer Aspire 5741G (5741G-334G50Mn) review

Viewed on its own, the Aspire 5741G is a solid laptop, but battery life isn't great and you can have the same specifications for less money elsewhere.

Considering it only costs £699, the Acer Aspire 5741 is a bargain. You get a quick CPU and a good supporting cast of components, and it will be fast enough for any task except high-end gaming.

Acer Aspire 5741 review

Acer's Aspire 5741 is part of the latest generation of surprisingly inexpensive laptops with Intel's powerful Core i5-430M processor. With an Overall score of 86, it easily rivals the performance of laptops that cost around £800 just a couple of months...

The Aspire 5741 combines outstanding build quality with brute processor power to become our first choice for a budget laptop.
