Acer Aspire Timeline 5810T-354G32Mn

We check out the biggest laptop in Acer's Timeline series to see how it stacks up.

Along the front we find a memory card reader and a large colour-changing LED that indicates if the 5810T is charging or the battery is getting low. To the right is the optical drive, a fourth USB port and Gigabit Ethernet socket.

A stylish and usable budget laptop with great graphics, but flawed in a few key areas

Acer Aspire Timeline 5810T review

Maybe not the most powerful of laptops, the 5810T's battery life is ahead of the pack

Long battery life ; Slim and light

Not that powerful ; Keyboard takes getting used to

Overall this is a nice, reasonably powerful laptop, whose light weight and large battery life means it is a great companion for working on in the great outdoors

Acer Aspire Timeline 5810TG review

Acer's Aspire Timeline 5810TG is a strange mix. It uses low-voltage components, which are typically used in lightweight ultra-portables, but its 15.6in screen and 2.4kg weight put it more in line with standard budget laptops.

Its long battery life is impressive, but poor performance and a large case let this laptop down. We'd have preferred a more powerful processor.
