Acer Aspire Timeline 5810T - Review of the Acer Aspire Timeline 5810T

Thin design, Very good battery life, Excellent speakers, Bright display

Low performance scores, Slick keys

Acer makes good use of the ample chassis, packing three USB ports, VGA, HDMI, and headphone and mic ports on the left, and an additional USB port, Ethernet, and an optical drive on the right. A 5-in-1 memory card reader is tucked under the front lip

Acer Aspire 5810 Timeline (AS5810TZ-4657)

This budget laptop will please business productivity-app users who need long battery life, but performance-conscious buyers should opt for a machine with more pep.

Superior battery life for its size; plenty of ports; fingerprint-resistant finish; inexpensive

Sluggish overall performance; slightly pale screen; subpar audio playback

Double your display real estate by adding a second monitor. It's a snap: Here's how

A good computer, useful for multitasking

Quite a good computer. I have been using it for 16 months, and my only complaint is the keyboard it gets dirty quickly and full of fingerprints. Also, don't pull on the keys, even the slightest bit, or they WILL break; easily. I learned... the hard way.

Good battery life ; Light to carry ; Love the multi-tasking ; NEVER overheats

Keyboard gets dirty easily; clean regularly

This machine is outstanding for video storage and play.

Where to start, I review the comment posted by other users complaining about battery life, bloat wear, program lag, and basically a lot of negative feedback. I can honestly type, that I have never encountered any of those problems.

1) Light weight ; 2) Extra long battery life, with short recharge time ; 3) Composite body, made of high impact plastic and aluminum, found on the back side of the screen, offers great protection ; 4)HMDI I/O port ; 5) Audio processor good

1) Factory loaded with VISTA. I upgraded to Windows 7 ; 2) Speakers not so good ; 3) Power cord port on the wrong side

Excellent buy, Long battery life, stays cool

This is an excellent computer for the average user. If you are going to do a lot of heavy duty computing, you may want to get a faster processor. The same could be said for heavy manipulation use. Lets face it, An integrated video card doesn't have the...

I bought the computer with Vista but got a free upgrade to Win7. It was a good choice to upgrade as it speeded up the start up time. I get a realistic 6.5 to 7 hours of battery life doing email on the internet. It has a very bright screen

All the freeware could be left off. It is nothing more than a nuisance. I really don't care for the touchpad and its software. Often, the arrow jumps around like there is no control over it. The camera software is weak and quit working

What Did I Expect?

In the age of duo and quad core processors, Acer defies logic and uses single core processors. Using Windows' User Experience Index, this system rates very low. (Just one more reason to make sure you buy computers at a brick & mortar store, as opposed...

Super long battery life

DVD Drive Disappears ; Low quality parts ; 1 year old, can't charge battery ; Endless bloatware

4 star to 3 star to ???

I knew did not have as good of a tech. support setup as other vendors (,, etc.) but - not this bad. Can't easily post or search for this problem? What's that about?

For the 1st 14 months - 4 star rating or better. Nice combination of price, performance & battery life

Overnight & just two months out of warranty - battery has developed a nasty problem. Absolutely no problems for 14 months and then battery dies completely overnight w/a "plugged in but not charging" status ; tech. support - not up to speed....

My First Laptop

After I returned this defective laptop I got a different model, now I am on my 3rd laptop and NEITHER has even half of the Wi-Fi reception as this model offers... I honestly wish I had repaired this Timeline rather than replacing it, because I haven't...

SUPER-STRONG internet signal! Best I have ever seen on any laptop! Bright screen, nicely back-lit. Proven to have an 8+ hour battery life while listening to music. Mine came with free Win 7 Upgrade which installed flawlessly. Webcam worked GREAT in...

Hard drive crashed and burned after 4 days -- It just simply wouldn't boot up anymore. DVD drive is LOUD! DVD wouldn't burn DVDs but it would burn CDs
