Acer Aspire 5920

It may be underpowered, and the native resolution's nothing to crow about, but this sturdy laptop from Acer offers great VFM.

For any project to succeed, it needs a strong foundation. This is true of the Acer 5920 as well. It's a robust base-level laptop that offers some good features, excellent battery life, and good multimedia features. The price starts at Rs 37,999. It's...

Review Acer Aspire 5920G Notebook

Acer goes gaming? We had the chance to review one of the currentl

Attractive new design ; Very stable and robust case ; Well equipped with interfaces ; User-friendly keyboard ; Bright display, measured parameters alright ; Passable performance ; Good sound ; Excellent battery runtime

Partly disadvantageous order of ports (USB, Audio) ; Noisy touchpad buttons ; Display reflects heavily ; Unsteady fan, high surface temperatures

Aspire 5920-6954

The Acer Aspire 5920-6954 just slips under the $1000 mark, at $999 (as of 2/7/08); it's worth every penny. Except for business applications, which it lacks, this Vista Home Premium laptop has just about everything home-office buyers could ask for in a...

Exceptionally nice keyboard Good graphics/gaming capabilities

On the heavy side

The cost of applications will make the Acer Aspire 5920-6954 spill significantly over $1000, but if you can afford to splurge a bit, it brings a little extra panache to your home office

Acer Aspire 5920 User Review

After looking for a desktop replacement notebook with gaming capabilities I found the Acer 5920-6313 offered unparalleled specs for the money. At the time of purchase it beat even the Inspiron 1520 when compared in a spec-to-spec analysis. Acer: 1,...

Best bang for the buck

LCD bright but not brilliant ; No sufficient CPU/GPU throttling ; Annoying fan

Despite its many flaws the Acer Aspire 5920 is one of the best buys today thanks to its rich specification, wealth of features and relative low price. I believe a proper new bios would solve the fan issue and CPU management, and a new Nvidia driver...

Acer Aspire 5920G – Features = 1, Design = 0

Imagine if you stayed awake for 96 hours straight with only Jolt Cola, Southern Comfort, and Corn Nuts for sustenance. Now imagine that after those four surreal

Respectable features and solid performance. Decent battery life (2 hours, 20 minutes). Very loud speakers. Packed with high-def features

At 7 pounds, the heaviest 15.4-inch notebook we've seen all year. Webcam on spring-mounted lid latch (meant to resemble a car door) is just a bad idea. Slow hard drive. Integrated video/media suite as clunky as the hardware. A ’00 price cut would make...

Aspire 5920

Armed with a fast processor and solid speakers, the $1999 (as of July 24, 2007) Acer Aspire 5920G is great for both work and entertainment. It bears Acer's tritone "gemstone" case design, which looks stylish without being overly ornate. The screen is...

Shortcut-loaded multimedia keyboard Subwoofer-supported speakers

Screen has slight glare problem Short battery life

This Windows Vista Ultimate home notebook lacks bundled applications, but it has power and style to spare. Short-list this one if you're on the prowl for a trendy home desktop replacement

Acer Aspire 5920G

Acer includes a comprehensive bundled media software package in the Arcade Deluxe. The DV wizard lets you capture video directly from your camcorder or from the webcam. VideoMagician sorts and organizes all your media content, similar to what Windows...

Affordable HD media center. Built-in HD DVD-ROM. HDMI-Out port. Dolby 5.1 surround sound. High-quality webcam

Acer's Arcade Deluxe doesn't play back HD DVD titles very well. Screen resolution could be a little higher

The Aspire 5920G is one of the most affordable HD DVD media centers available. It's also pleasing to the eye, thanks to its new Gemstone design.

"Hot, bulky, constant faults. Though some good features."

CONS]I now know that this computer needs to ...

Well most of all the price, i managed to haggle down the price from $1000 to $840 and on top of that it had a $150 cashback, so $690 for a feature packed computer (i'm sure that my comp is a more recent version of this model). See below for the cons

The heat is a massive issue, sometimes to hot to touch, simply from it sitting on my couch, this may have contributed to the few times it has switched off. Too much too list with 250 words, so see below
