Acer Aspire 7551G Laptop Review - AMD Phenom II X4 N930

A few weeks ago we had our first look at an Acer product, the Acer Aspire 1551 Notebook. Today in our lab we have something a bit more powerful, the Acer Aspire 7551G. Make no mistake, this laptop is a processing power house. It's fully capable of...

The Acer Aspire 7551G performs like a desktop and has the ability to be used on the go. Those in the market for an affordable gaming laptop should keep the 7551G on their short list.

For the price, this quad-core desktop replacement isn't particularly fast, nor does it have the greatest screen

Fed up with this thing

I bought this epic fail of a machine with the intention of doing graphics work. But I can't, because there is no position from which the screen shows colors consistenly across it. Merely nodding shift the appearance of colors. When the hard drive...

4 core Phenom, 1600x900 screen

Screen viewing angle is about 25 degrees. Surprisingly flimsy plastic construction

Great laptop

If you're looking for an all-around laptop, including gaming, casual, 3d apps, or what have you, that will also last a while, this is the laptop for you, but make sure you get a cooling pad. If you're not into gaming or cpu/graphics intensive stuff,...

Great laptop for the price. Been using it for full on gaming from the get-go. Definitely have to keep a fan under it for gaming but I think that's expected for most laptops. Only game it would still run hot from was GTA4. At the price, it didn't even...

As some have mentioned, no built in bluetooth, gets hot, low quality speakers (but it's a laptop so I didn't expect much). Not sure about customer support as I haven't had the need to contact for over a year now. It's not perfect, but its very near ;...

Poor Customer Service

I have worked many times with other manufactures in similar situations. ie Within 30 days of expiration. Other manufactures have been more than willing to assist. I will never by another Acer product.

Fair price. Good performance until it broke

Horrible customer service. The laptop harddrive died well within the warranty period. I used another I had and got the laptop up and running. When i went to make the claim a month or so later, I was outside the warranty by 11 days. They refused to...

AMD makes the difference

This is a workhorse. I use it for days on end. The AMD quad-core enables me to run and fully utilize heavy-duty digital audio work-station software (Sibelius 7, Kontakt 4 with Factory Library, and best of ASIO4ALL works!!!),all this while I download...

Ultra-great customer service. Although not stated, an unconditional warranty exists for 90 days from purchase. My keyboard stopped working (darn coffee!) and all I had to do was drop it off at the nearest FedEx office; it returned within 2 weeks, but...

HDMI port has some synch problems with my Planar 27" monitor. (Probably a Win7 driver issue, actually.) If I just used it as aworkstation there would be no problem ; Could use a fourth USB port. It is a little heavy

DEAD is 6 Months!

None at this point

Today I come home after getting my lunch and turn this laptop on to do my work, and the screen does not turn on. I try rebooting the laptop and still nothing. I thought it might just be a bad inverter for the LED screen, so I try plugging it in to my...

Terrible Acer customer service

This was purchased as a New Year gift well in advance. The unit was visually examined when delivered and both the box and the unit itself looked great. When the unit was turned on for the first time after New Year Day 4 large cracks showed themselves...
