Acer Aspire 9805WKHi

Not highly portable, Acer's 20-inch laptop's plays hi-def movies well.

Brilliant 20.1-inch display. Rich cinematic experience. HD DVD-ROM with better software. Speedy processor and lots of RAM.

PowerDVD software still needs fine-tuning. Graphics card below expectations. Weight can be a problem. Unreliable remote.

Acer Aspire 9800 review: Acer Aspire 9800

Beautiful, broad, 20-inch display; built-in HD-DVD drive; built-in TV tuner; dual hard drives provide plenty of storage space.

Too large to carry; you can't adjust the display height or keyboard distance from the display; somewhat disappointing gaming performance.

The large, 20-inch Acer Aspire 9800 offers a decent multimedia experience, but you'd be better off buying a more portable laptop and a detached display.

Acer Aspire 9800 20in Notebook

If you want to replace your desktop PC but want something a bit different, take a look at this Acer.

Low resolution aside, the screen in question is a very fine example. Equipped with Acer’s CrystalBrite high-contrast coating, video playback and games look outstanding, with vivid and realistic colours that just jump out at you. This is a good thing...

Acer Aspire 9800 review

The latest ever-more powerful desktop replacement

Intel Centrino Core Duo T2300E Processor 1.66 GHz ; 240GB Raid HD at 5,400rpm

1,680x1,050 resolution

It's a huge desktop replacement that is fast but could do a lot better in the graphics department

Acer V9800 review

This 4K DLP debutant delivers a sometimes stunning UHD HDR performance, aided by clarity and luminance, albeit hampered by mediocre blacks. Definitely one to consider.

Acer Aspire 9802WKMi laptop

How large do you want your notebook screen to be? If you're looking to carry it about, smaller is definitely better but if you're thinking of the ultimate desktop replacement, then there is no other option than to go for a 20.1-inch screen. When it...

Big screen, great spec, good price

Average graphics

When it comes to breaking new ground, Acer is never scared of a challenge and while a 20-inch notebook won’t be most peoples idea of a portable computer, it’s a great machine at a great price – just don’t sit too close to the screen.

Acer Aspire AS9802WKMi

An impressive attempt at a good-value portable PC, but the ergonomics let it down.

Not surprisingly, battery life isn't impressive: under intense use, the Acer ran for one hour six minutes, and a shade over two hours under light use. That's thanks in part to the sheer size of the screen, although the use of six LED backlights rather...

Acer - Aspire 9800

Even if you think you've seen some large laptops, nothing quite prepares you for the size of Acer's Aspire 9800. It's not so much a desktop replacement as a desk replacement. The reason for its huge ...

Powerful and well featured, the Aspire 9800 is the ultimate in desktop replacements and, given the size of the screen and what you get in the box, it's almost a bargain. Just don't expect to be able to carry it around with you.

acer aspire 9805

To each his own. The Acer support website is horrible, hope I don't ever need to call them. Make sure you do a complete back up and make recovery disks as soon as you get home with this laptop. Hey, for $400 did you really think you wouldn't have to...

Battery life, 250gb HD, easy to use, fast and fun to tweek

Touch pad is extremely sensitive, 2USB ports & to close together
