Acer Aspire One Happy review

The Acer Aspire One Happy is a decent netbook, but it's only the range of colour options you can buy it in that sets it apart from the competition.

Good screen ; Excellent keyboard ; Decent battery life ; Comes in a range of colours

Android doesn't work well on netbooks ; Feels cheap

The Acer Aspire One Happy is a decent netbook, but, apart from the range of colours that it's available in and the presence of Android 2.1, it doesn't really offer anything that you can't get elsewhere for a similar price

Acer Aspire One Happy

For AU$499, the Acer Aspire One Happy is likely to make someone happy. Increasingly, though, we're seeing netbooks as too limited — we'd be much more tempted to splash out on a thin-and-light like the MacBook Air or a full-fledged budget laptop instead.

Cute little package ; Multi-touch scrolling

Same old netbook with artificial limitations ; Hard to read, blurry text ; Android port isn't that useful and poorly thought out

For AU$499, the Acer Aspire One Happy is likely to make someone happy. Increasingly, though, we're seeing netbooks as too limited, especially when they're bundled with 1GB RAM, are limited to 1024x600 and come with Windows 7 Starter. We'd be much more...

A “Happy” Experience : Acer Aspire One Happy

Those kind people at Laptops Direct were responsible for supplying this next product from the Acer stable of netbook/notebook catalogue.

Some care does need to be taken as the back button used by Android is the Esc key which is in close proximity to the Aspire One Happy’s on/off switch. I lost count of the times I inadvertently switch off the netbook because of this problem. The Windows...
