Acer packs this 15.6-inch laptop with an Intel Core i5 processor and switchable Nvidia and Intel graphics.

Acer Aspire 5745G

 

Refined look. Core i7 performance mixed with a GeForce GT 330M is a great balance. Four USB ports.

No Bluetooth or 5GHz 802.11n is an odd omission for the price.

Acer's 5745G almost hits that perfect note between price and performance — so long as you don't care about Bluetooth or 5GHz 802.11n.

But even at this price you'd expect a little more from the Acer Aspire 5745G. You'd be pleased to find a fast processor in the form of the Intel Core i5 450M running at 2.4GHz. The Acer Aspire 5745G 971096 also boasts nVidia's 512 GeForce 310M GPU...

The lower battery life is offset somewhat by the rapid overall system performance. With 108 points scored in WorldBench 6, the Acer Aspire 5745G 971096 takes a convincing lead, however we'd like to see better battery life.

Very fast startup from standby low-power state. Cold startup takes right under a minute with Windows 7. Screams through most any visual chore you can throw at it. GPU takes over nicely with settings you choose in NVIDIA's control panel. Seamless...

None other than maybe needing a lighted keyboard (as all laptops should in my opinion)

Nice Buy Except...

 

If it wasn't for the webcam I would keep this laptop, but sadly I will have to return it.

I really like the way this laptop looks and functions online and offline. The screen size is just right for what I need. It runs well

The webcam is nothing like I expected. The quality is bad and Acer doesn't have any drivers. The "camera control" tab is not accessible

Great Laptop

 

Easy to get smudges on cover like others say.

No issues so far. Nice and fast

Comes with some junk installed, easy enough to remove. AC connection seems a little loose, but no issues so far
