Acer - Aspire AS5750G

Wallet-friendly. That's one way to describe Acer's new 2.3GHz Intel Sandy Bridge-powered laptop. Because the company has certainly pulled off something special in the value for money stakes with the price-to-specification ratio of its AS5750G-2414G50. ...

The Aspire AS5750G is a great all-round laptop that can handle up-to-date games at higher detail levels with pretty smooth results. Not everything is perfect, we do have some slight niggles - the most notable of which is the rather narrow viewing angle...

Lemon Unit

Amazing Laptop. Without a doubt one of the best I have ever used... WHILE it lasted ; Gamed well on LFD2 on high settings, no lag fan and charger. Really fast start up shutdown. Battery life is alright but varies. Sound is very decent quality. Webcam...

I must have recieved a LEMON UNIT ; I had to send this unit in THREE TIMES!!!! All for the same issue. Must have a bad wiring or some kind of electrical issue due to the fact that ; Boot agent error ; they replaced my harddrive twice, the processing...

Great but has glitches

Recommend the warranty, if not squaretrade warranty

Really fast, 6gb of ram, great video card. Ran Starcraft 2 on high graphics without much lag

Slow Harddrive and the laptop sometimes has glitch moments, but it could be just this particular laptop

Great notebook for games!

Some games (like Deus Ex Human rev. and Mass Effect 3) cannot be detected by the system to automatically run with Nvidia card. So they have to be executed with a special option to force them to run with geforce card which can be enabled at Nvidia...

This notebook is a really great gaming machine even for a budget computer. It looks really neat with good choice of colors and is actually somewhat light and thin. One thing I really like is that it runs very quietly even when playing games. I've...

There are a few cons like the lack of back-lit keyboard. I'd really prefer to have one installed when playing in the dark room. Also like some other reviewers mentioned hard drive speed is a bit slow but I'm OK with that, maybe will upgrade to SSD...

Excellent

The default screen brightness was really intense, looked awesome but it was frying my eyes so I had to turn it down. Battery life for general use lasts around 4-5 hours as advertised. However, when the graphics card is running for games and such, the...

Lots of power at a great price! Handles minecraft with graphics on max at about 80 FPS. Kingdoms of amalaur reckoning also ran very well with near instant load screens and good FPS. This is an excellent budget gaming notebook ; Its nice and light, and...

The disc drive feels really flimsy ; Bloatware package was a little annoying, had to uninstall about 10 programs

Good Price

I swapped out the hard drive with the Samsung 830 128GB SSD that I also bought from NewEgg and with a clean install the computer cold boots in 18 seconds and shuts down in 7 seconds. My wife is very pleased.

Price, Nvidia 630m is good enough for Batman Arkham City on low-med settings

Nvidia optimus is a little annoying. It's a nice concept but I don't think it's practical. The Nvidia control panel auto detects if the application you are running can benefit from the dedicated card and it will automatically enable that card and use...

incredible

Screen is gorgeous.

This thing is absolutely incredible, It arrived ONE DAY after I ordered it first of all, even though I chose the UPS 3 day free shipping. The i7 inside is very powerful. So far I have played Left 4 Dead 2, WoW, SC2, and Battlefield 3 on this baby. They...

I cannot find a complaint

Do not buy - not worth it...

Delivered quickly

Resolution max is too low for this HW configuration. Even though this is a 15.6 inch laptop - a max of 1366x768 is a deal breaker. My bad for not having checked the specs closely but not a good configuration for any serious user. I'll have to suffer...

Not Compatible with Ubuntu

This notebook seems completely useless if you intend to run Ubuntu.

If you intend to use this notebook with Windows 7, it may work fine. I was able to perform basic tasks such as opening a browser, connecting to wireless and such. However, there was a problem when trying to run a live CD for Ubuntu, the same live CD...

I tried running a live Ubuntu 11.10 CD (64-bit). First, you have to go into BIOS and enable F12 boot menu or select the CDROM as the first boot option. It would then crash each time I tried to boot from CD. I tried the CD in other machines, one of them...

YES! Buy!!!

Great buy!! If you need a good computer and can't spend 1k buy this. It will do pretty much everything you ask except BF3 on max. (but c'mon we all know that)

Price/Performance ; Fast ; Perfect balance of Specs

Some minor bloat-ware, honestly nitpicking there. Nothing compared to other computers I've received. Only a few garbage programs ; Wont give me a raise ; Wont pay my taxes ; Didn't come with USB waffle iron
