If you want a big-screen notebook at a small price, this Wal-Mart-exclusive machine will deliver for basic tasks, though it's no processing powerhouse.

Low price for a 17-inch laptop, Huge screen, Full-size keyboard with number pad

Marginal performance, Lackluster design, LED-backlit display not overly vibrant

Acer Aspire 7741G review

A decent, but ultimately unremarkable, desktop replacement machine

Clear picture ; Powerful processor ; Excellent graphical performance ; Easy to grip ; Could replace a desktop

Cheap-looking finish ; Screen reflects light too much ; Keyboard poorly built ; Short battery life ; Not very portable

The Aspire 7741G is a good, but not excellent, laptop. If you're after a desktop replacement system, it's worth considering.

A large screen, great image quality and decent performance makes this laptop excellent value; however, the Packard Bell LM86 is identical except for a larger hard disk

a great computer

I did have to return the first one I received from new egg because it did not keep the date and time. But New Egg was very easy to deal with and sent me a replacement very quickly. Even with this, I still have to give the computer 5 stars. I understand...

Plenty powerful for doing most things I want to do. I can edit video, music, play emulators, Skype, etc. It appears to be fairly sturdy and has a nice simple look. Also, not a lot of bloat ware cluttering the desktop

The only real con I can think of is the keys on the keyboard are very easy to pop off. It only happened once accidentally, but it was easy to put back on. and the other thing would be the beep it makes when you plug it in - kinda loud and unpleasant....

Awesome laptop, bad power brick.

All in all this laptop is awesome. You couldn't go wrong for a mid range, large sized laptop like this one. Buyer beware though, I'm not the only one with power issues in the reviews. and I've read a few reports of bad hard drives (easy fix, though I...

this laptop is awesome for the price range. Dedicated graphics card, huge screen resolution, and a very able cpu. It keeps up with my needs and games just fine. I usually have photoshop running, a dozen or so tabs in Chrome, and a game at times. It...

the trackpad stinks, Horribly so. You really do feel like you've suddenly caught a bad case of the twitches when you use it. I've been using an external notebook mouse since I bought it. I can't put up with the trackpad ; the power brick is a dud. Many...

Jury is OUT

I researched this laptop for some time mainly based off user feed back here and felt I'd made the right choice. Although the issue has been escalated to a rep in the states the results are the same, perhaps worse. I feel at a minimum the lap top...

Purchased in July, put into used in September. Since actually running this laptop everything seemed fine until I hooked up an external monitor. Randomly both screens turn off and then come back on after a few seconds ; The lap top has been sent back to...

Very good for the money!!!

Overall its a great laptop and the major reason of 5 eggs is the poor viewing angle on the monitor. You can seriously have the monitor centered and be perfectly fine in the middle and still be a little off at the edges. Not noticeable all the time but...

display is crisp ; there isn't much glare on display ; keyboard feels and works great ; plenty of power to run everything from word processing and internet surfing to some gaming and adobe cs4 (For recreational use only. not suited for large projects.)...

monitor has terrible view angle ; battery life is very poor when using anything using any processing power or graphics. less than an hour ; bloatware (doesn't take long to remove) ; the computer doesn't come with stock discs. either buy dvd's with it...

Computer is great. Service was horrible.

Not only did I get rush processing which shouldn't take 3 DAYS out of the 1-2 business days to process and ship my order; (What a joke), but the UPS 2nd day air, which USUALLY means that it'll get to you on the SECOND DAY, is scheduled to get here 6...

Computer is great, fast, plays all the games I have on med+ settings with 60+ fps ; Keyboard feels nice ; Nice large screen. (Makes the battery life suffer a little bit but that's to be expected.)

Can't really think of any right now ; Read in other thought for why it's a 3 egg rating

More bad news on this one

Either buy a less expensive machine because a toy should not cost much, or get over $900. My company bought this as a back up, so I'll keep trying on it, but I have it clear with them this is the last time we waste money on a mid price range machine.

Not many, specs are accurate

In addition to the left hand mouse with super scroll for the left index finger (yep, I am right handed, or was), the keyboard is so cheap the keys toggle, so you will have to strike each key exactly in the center or get no response. This is esp. bad...
