Acer Aspire AS7741Z-4643

Inexpensive 17-inch laptop; HDMI output; decent touch pad.

Low-end processor; plastic construction; flexy keyboard; limited connectivity.

The Acer Aspire AS7741Z-4643 does an admirable job for an entry-level big-screen laptop, assuming you can live with the corner cutting.

The Acer Aspire AS7741Z-4815 is a big-screen laptop with a small price tag.

Very affordable. Smudge-proof finish. Nice display. Big hard drive.

Sluggish performance. Limited connectivity ports. So-so battery life.

I bought a toshiba instead same company but better quality.

defective unit ; New egg refunded me the price of the unit and the extended warranty. I have a feeling acer gave them a hard time though ; I will continue to shop at newegg as they provide a great service. Acer is still in question

Fail new egg or fail acer? who is lying...

 

By the looks of it one or both of these parties are involved in a scam or are completely incompetent. Either way I've lost total faith in Acer and will stop giving them rave reviews to my customers immediately.

17" display very hard to find lately ; I bought this for my disabled family member so they could see the screen better

Combined mouse pad buttons is a problem

 

Retuned the unit. The two mouse pad buttons are combined, with a dead spot in the center, so if you need to switch from left to right button, you have to move your thumb at least an inch. If it was two buttons you would only have to move a 1/4 inch. ...

I got this as replacment for school. I like the larger display and port placments on it better than the older one. I brought it during exam time so didn't really get to work it much yet.What I have done with it has preformed great, writing term papers...

I've had this computer for about 3 weeks and it seems to work fine. I've had no problems with it so I would recommend it. The price was very good compared to other brands with the same features.

I've only had it a few weeks, but I had an ACERfor 2 years prior. Every machine I have priced that has all the features, room, memory etc., that this one has is at least $150 more. At [$]I feel like I stole the thing! I don't know much about...
