Great for the $

I don't understand the other negative reviews for this laptop (assuming it works). It's a cheap $280 Acer that will do what most people need: internet/email, skype and office. The Pentium 2117U is on par with the older Core 2 Duo mobile Penryn chips...

Ivy Bridge Pentium, slim profile, great specs for $280 on a full-sized laptop in April 2014. At this price you're usually stuck with a Celeron or AMD E1 garbage. Keyboard is good, not great. Easy access (one screw) to the HDD and RAM

No optical drive, slightly flimsy case but hard to complain for the price. Standard, slow 5400 rpm hard drive. 4-cell battery but keep in mind this is a low-power unit (2117U is rated at 17W TDP). Decent amount of crapware to uninstall

Acer will sell you a damaged laptop and try to make you pay to fix it.

Not Applicable

Arrived with a scratched screen despite being sealed in box. Contacted Acer and after several days they told me that it was "cosmetic damage." They wanted me to pay to return it, charge me to repair it, and then charge me to have it shipped back to me
