Great dual core netbook

Advanced users: Many newer 7200rpm laptop drives (incl. WD Scorpio black) pull the same or less current than the stock Hitachi so that upgrade won't draw down your battery life. Does support 2 gig ram (1 slot, 2GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3...

Dual core Atom with hyperthreading allows for 4 simultaneous threads and snappy performance. Solid build. Extremely bright and crisp LED/LCD screen. Long battery life

Comes with Win7 Starter and only 1 gig ram. Even though the CPU and chipset support 4 gig ram, Acer has locked it to 2 gig in the bios

Pretty nice, wish it could use 4 gigs

Installed Windows 7 Professional 64 and it runs just fine.

Nice processor, great battery life! Screen is nice and crisp. Keyboard easy to type on. Price is excellent for this netbook

Locked at 2 gigs ram

Decent Computer

This computer is fast enough for most internet browsing purposes and minor gaming. The mouse button is not divided into "left and right" and this makes it difficult to push. Windows 7 Starter is not great.

Fast, good keyboard layout, bright screen, nice features

Small screen, single mouse button is hard to push

Acer Aspire One AOD255E-13639

It won't win any speed awards, but it plays videos and music just fine, which is what I wanted it for. It was worth the extra $ for the larger hard drive.

Decent performance for a netbook. The screen is a 10.1" LCD screen, which looks beautiful. Very thin and lightweight. Good battery life. I turned the brightness all the way down and the screen was perfectly visible and I get over 3 hours running on...

No easy/obvious way to upgrade memory or replace hard drive. Glossy finish very prone to show fingerprints. Lots of junk software to uninstall initially, but that's commonplace with brand-name PCs

Acer Aspire One D255

Does what I expect from a Netbook. Lightweight, small with good battery life ; If you can live with the product out of the box than I think you will be pleased

Wanted to upgrade the 1GB of RAM to 2GB but it looks like either I have to dis-assemble the unit or pay to have it done ; I asked Acer why would they provide 2GB capacity but not make it possible to do so. I received the typical 1st tier off shore...

Ummm Amazing....yes!

So...out of box this thing blew me away, I test hundreds of netbooks every year, and where i work we dont carry dual core netbooks, so I then proceeded to throw in a SSD HDD and 4gb of ddr3 which makes it smokin fast. I recommend at the least 2gb of...

Dual-Core, 4 threads ; DDR3 ; Office Starter ; Easy to expand panel, on back ; medium sized keys ; battery really is about 8hrs

Gets pretty hot out of box ; 1gb RAM ; Intel media accel ; Win 7 starter<yuck ; speaker (mono)

Acer Aspire ONE D255E-13639 10.1" Netbook, Intel Atom N455 (1.66GHz), 1GB DDR3 Memory, 250GB HDD, Intel GMA 3150, Windows 7 Starter

Works fine out of the box but is fantastic with 2gb RAM upgrade. Definitely did not expect a desktop replacement so fills the need of a portable, functional netbook perfectly.

This computer may seem like a good buy for the money, but it is not. I have found the system to be slow, and the bare bones Windows 7 starter edition less than appealing. I cannot even change the desktop background with this version. I have owned other...

Acer Aspire One D255E-N55DQ

Having had a need to restore it to factory settings the notebook will not load any further than 35% so I am stuck with a pretty expensive doorstop
